Hey, DirkaDirka,

The 557" Ford is a popular one right now. my friend Jimmy Smith said there was one at Holly Springs in a T-Bird a few weeks ago, had a dial of 5.05 and could run it, i'm got a friend here that runs at Twin Cities, that run 5 teens, no nitrous with one in an early Mustang.

Zip.

Yeah but wouldnt that be a lil too big for the engine compartment without doing any mods to it? I know a 460 will fit nicely in without making any mods. Also I am not trying to go that fast. I will be content if I make the 9sec mark. Or is that 5.05 in the 1/8th mi.??

yea that will be about 5.00-5.05 in the 1/8th if you are running 9's in the quarter but thats not always true about the 4 sec difference.it depends on your acceleration and topend

Dirka
The physical size will be the same if based on the same block/head combo. A 454 Chevy and a 632 Chevy are same same.

Thanks guys. Yeah I do have a lot to learn when it comes to racing engines and tranny's and rear suspensions. Thats why I am having my motor and tranny built by a professional.

Here is the block I was thinking bout getting for the Stang.
