Trouble,

I don't see your points... "as is" is sometimes an excuse to pass on garbage. I will not pay 500.00 for ANY sbc's that has a crack in the block... they are a dime a dozen...I could get a good 350 complete core here for 200.00.
Anyways, how hard is it to know if you have a 4spd or a 3psd??? Take a little time to dry-shift it once to discover what it is. Quit blaming other people for the way you misrepresented this deal... buyers do not care about that. You indeed had the truck for sale right???? So don't whine about Dan buying it... you act is if you were annoyed that he bought it from you!! Here's an idea.... if you can't take 100.00 less, DON"T TAKE IT. Then don't come on here and whine about that too. Give me a break... admit you were negligent & that you made a mistake!!! This is your responsibility.... it is not Dan's fault that you misrepresented the truck.

You made an offer for a different price that was dicussed on the phone correct? I excepted your offer on the truck while you were standing beside the truck correct? So I excpeted your offer after you looked at the truck. If you do not feel it is worth what you paid and you looked the truck over, why did you make an offer. If you would have paid what I was asking I might feel different, but you came, you looked and offered me less, so to me that puts the deal back on you. If you are havinf buyers remorse, sorry that is not my fault. The truck was sold as is where is and you knew that and still looked it over and made me an offer. End of story.
I have to agree with him here. The guy looked at it in person and made an offer. It isn't like he bought it on ebay sight unseen.

Rigsby, with all due respect the same advice can be given to the buyer...He was looking at the truck in person...how hard is it to dry shift it? The cracked block is another story but still when you inspect something in person you have to look at it good....I am not saying it is ok to knowingly sell a junk block...but buying in person is different than buying on ebay. sorry that's how I see it. Now if the block was supposed to be good and the seller knew it was cracked then shame on him and that is a bit different.

Well it also depends on how the block is cracked. If it is easy to see or if it is one of those that you cant tell unless you really look at it close. Also it doesnt say that a person is bad if they didnt see the crack and someone else did.

we are talking about 1400 dollars, not 14k dollars.. my goodness what does someone want or expect for 1400? the way i see it is you went and looked at it, you should have inspected it better.. looks like a case of buyers remorse to me..
anyways, i just happened to look under this section and saw trouble44's name.. i have dealt with him on here, and he has always been straight up with me..

I keep reading a bunch of stuff anf everyone assumes. Read this carefullly, I told the guy I didn't know much about the truck except what I was told. I did not gurrantee anything on the truck and even told him the bext thing about the truck was the extra cab. I also told him when he was here to check it out because I didn't know and he did. How is any of that not being truthfull.
Second point I dont know who said there was not a water pump on the truck but there was, We put a battery in the truck and poured gas in the carb until it started. In fact Dano is the one who poured the gas down the carb until it stated. He looked he made an offer and he bought asis. End of story.
I bought the truck to help out the guy who owned it, I bought it for parts and sold it the same way. I also lowered from $1800 down to $1400 when he made the offer.
Truck was sold as I was told, buyer was told that also. I made it clear I didn't know much about the truck and for what I bought it for I didn't care..
Also I never heard anything about the engine having a problem until I told him I didn't know about the trans. Sorry but I am not in belief of what he says. End of story.

Just so you know there was a water pump on the truck, starter altenater carb everything. Dano poured gas down in the carb while I turned the key to here it run. I have no idea where the water pump went to after that but I do have a photo of the rusty looking old engine and it was complete. Except no battery.
