Description
2023 ATC ROM 500, 8.5' x 24', black exterior with the factory blackout package. Premium escape door. Extruded aluminum floor. Approximately 5,000 miles, all of them hauling a race car. Stored indoors in climate control between events. Clean Montana title, no liens. I bought it new.
This is the top of ATC's ROM car hauler line, not a 300 or 400 series. All-aluminum tube frame, 6-sided welded, .040 screwless exterior, one-piece aluminum roof.

36" side entrance door with slide-in/out step
Rear spoiler with (3) LED lights and backup
Indoor stored, climate controlled
Between events this trailer lives inside, in climate control, next to my race cars. The only time it sits outside is at the track on a race weekend.
That matters more on a black trailer than on any other color. Three years of Texas sun and Gulf Coast humidity will chalk and oxidize black aluminum, and anyone who's owned one knows it. This one hasn't been through that. No hail damage, no UV chalking, no faded or lifting graphics, no dried-out seals, no water staining at the roof seams. Look at the roof and the seals and you'll see a trailer that reads newer than a 2023.
Southern trailer, never salted
Everybody says aluminum doesn't rust. True, and irrelevant to the parts that matter. The axle tubes, trailing arms, brake backing plates, magnets, drums, wiring grounds, coupler, safety chains, hinges, and every fastener on this trailer are steel, and road salt is what kills them.
This trailer has never seen snow or a salted road. Every mile is Southern. Pull a wheel and look at the brakes yourself. That is the whole reason to buy a three-year-old trailer out of Texas instead of a cheaper one out of the Midwest.
Purpose-built use
This hauled a race car and nothing else. It was never a moving trailer, never a jobsite trailer. No drywall, no lumber, no landscaping equipment, no livestock.
Expect what you'd expect: tie-down wear at the D-rings and tire marks on the floor. Extruded aluminum cleans up with a pressure washer. I'm not going to tell you it looks like it left the factory, but it looks like a well-kept race hauler with 5,000 miles on it, because that's what it is.
Why the payload matters
A steel-framed 24-footer at the same 9,990 GVWR runs 4,500 to 5,000 lb empty. This one is 3,662. Roughly 1,000 lb more usable capacity at the same rating, and at 9,990 you stay on a standard Class C license with any 3/4 or 1 ton. No CDL, no non-commercial Class A.
A comparable new build today is north of $47,000 before you wait on a factory order.
