1975 Dodge Dart Super-Pro Race Car – This car is Race Ready! All it needs is a driver.
I’ve been racing it in Las Vegas for 2 and a half years, and it consistently runs 5.50’s at 125 mph in the 1/8 mile with 4:86 gears. When I ran it with the 4:30 gears in the ¼ mile, my best was 8.60 at 157 mph. It was on the rev limiter at the mph cone and lost a little bit of time and mph. The perfect ¼ mile gear would be a 4:10, and here in Vegas, I’m confident it would run in the 8.50’s at 160 mph. The chassis is currently certified to 8.50. If the car runs in the mid-west or back east with a better DA, you will have to slow it down a little bit so that you don’t go faster than 8.50.
The car is powered by a Scott Shafiroff 582 Big Block Chevy Pro Series motor. I bought the motor new and included the “bells and whistles package”. You can go to Scott Shafiroff’s website and see all the parts and pieces that are used in this motor combination. Pricing today is $28,290.00 plus tax. The dyno sheets are included with every Scott Shafiroff motor.
This motor has run flawlessly and never broken a part. I change the oil every 30 passes and I send a sample back to Blackstone Laboratories for an oil analysis. To date, every test has shown no excessive wear or any indication of any parts failure. I’ve also had the motor freshened once back at Scott Shafiroff’s facility in New York.
The car has custom headers made by REF in Kingman, AZ
I use the Boninfante Severe Duty SFI Flexplate & ARP Bolt Package with a Hughes full race powerglide transmission and Hughes converter. It also has a Precision Performance air-shifter.
The driveshaft is carbon fiber.
In the back is a Strange Ford 9 inch with a 4-link suspension with coil overs and double adjustable shocks.
In the front is a QA1 suspension with double adjustable shocks.
Disc brakes are at all 4 corners.
The car has Sanders wheels all around, and the rears are double beadlocks.
The car has K&R electronics and wiring systems. I also have their Pro-stage throttle enhancer.
There is also a Race-Pak Data recorder in the car.
An Aeromotive A-1000 fuel pump and filters provide the fuel to the APD 1250 Billet Enforcer 4500 Carb.
In the trunk are 2-Odyssey batteries and a 5-gallon fuel cell.
The car has a fiberglass one piece front end, doors, and trunk lid. Lexan windows are also used. Total weight is about 2,750 lbs.
