For sale is a freshly rebuilt 548ci Big Block Chevy that recently made an impressive 780 horsepower and 720 lb-ft of torque on the dyno using 93-octane pump gas. The engine was just freshened with new Diamond forged pistons and a new Comp Cams solid roller camshaft. Prior to the refresh, the engine had only seen dyno time with a higher-compression, larger-cam combination, making this an extremely low-time engine. It is built around a Bow Tie 9.800” block with a Callies 4.250” 8-counterweight crankshaft, Callies 6.385” H-beam rods, Diamond 4.530” forged 10.3:1 pistons, Clevite Race bearings, .021” ring gap, and a Melling M77HV high-volume oil pump. The top end features fully ported 360cc Pro Topline cylinder heads with 2.300” intake and 1.880” exhaust valves, a fully ported Dart single-plane intake manifold, Comp Cams stainless 1.7:1 roller rockers, and a Reher Morrison rocker stud girdle. Additional components include ARP main and head studs, ARP flywheel bolts, a Milodon 7-quart oil pan and timing cover, Cometic head gaskets, ATI harmonic balancer, 1050 CFM Dominator carburettor, MSD billet distributor, CVR starter and flywheel, and an electric water pump.
