THE BUILD
Chassis: Norma M20FC chassis no. 3, 2015 carbon monocoque, updated to 2016/17 spec.
Engine: Honda K20-based 2.3L stroker, naturally aspirated, built in-house by Lang Racing Development. 4 hours since build. VTEC deleted, Ferrea roller-rocker valvetrain, developed head, intake plenum and larger throttle body. 9,600 rpm limit.
Electronics and power: MoTeC M800 engine management, calibrated by Shane Tecklenburg. Complete car rewire by Colin Mason (MoTeC Pro) - none of the original Norma electronics remain. ECUMaster power distribution with button panel, so every circuit is protected, switchable and adjustable. MoTeC data logging and telemetry. Cosworth paddle-shift steering wheel with push-to-talk radio harness.
Fuel system: Custom 21-gallon fuel cell by Harmon Racing Cells, built for distance racing - we moved the dry-sump tank out of the fuel cell area to make room for it. Internal collector with two transfer pumps and two main pumps. The pumps can be switched back and forth, and the ECUMaster power system switches over automatically if a pump starts drawing too much current. Over 2-hour stints on average. Dry-break refueling.
Gearbox: Sadev SLR82 6-speed sequential with paddle shift (box #066). Full rebuild by Sadev in December 2024, serviced again in April 2025; about 15 hours since. Gearing worked out from data for West Coast tracks (Willow Springs, Buttonwillow, Thunderhill, Utah).
Wheels and bodywork: Three sets of custom three-piece Kodiak wheels (spun rims, machined centers), 10" wide front / 12" wide rear, redesigned in 2025 with extra caliper clearance. Widened bodywork to fit. Spare rim halves included (4 rear, 2 front) - Kodiak no longer makes wheels. Goodyear race tires.
Night racing: High-output LED lighting on a dedicated high-current circuit, proven at the Sunchaser 6-Hour after dark.
HISTORY
In October 2024 a left-rear wheel broke during a race. Damage was limited and fully repaired, and Kodiak redesigned and remade the wheels in 2025. The car has raced and won since.
SPARES
Large spares package, including the three wheel sets, spare rim halves, bodywork, suspension and engine parts, electronics and fueling equipment. Full itemized list on request.
