ohhhh come on now..there is no such thing as junk,,,if a man loves his ride and takes pride in what work he does on it..ITS FAR FROM JUNK..

i cannot stand rice burners for the big part...but everytime a go to a crusie inn or show and i see one of these kids cars dressed out and i know he took crazy hours and money getting it there..i congradulate him even if i do not care for his ride...

NOW i will call whatever that VEga was on here a few weeks back sold by "go-fast-dude"....JUNK !!!

HAVE A GOOD ONE

One mans junk is another mans treasure.

I would not mind having anything you have in your collection!

Not junk at all imho.

I didn't have one of my newest ride but here is my Uncle Zimbawaha in Irag....This was a full size til we went over there and it also had a Continental Kit on the back originally...Oh yea, the donkey is a new one he borrowed one night real late, as the original was made into hamburger along with the car damage...And the GEO is not the car, it is short for George, the donkey...So his car was customized courtesy of the USA...

I had the chassis certified last spring (7.50), just to make sure i was on the right track. So far, so good i guess.

Oh yeah, it is a ton of fun. Thanks for the compliment spib. Very much appreciated. Gonna get a new paint job this coming winter. Not too fond of the blue. It looks light blue in pics, but it is really about the color of a pepsi can in person. Thinking candy red something!! I'm really liking hammertimes new powerchassis. That is one kick a$% paint job.

I like that car of yours! You running a small block? I have always liked the intermediate sized Fords. I drove a '64 T-bolt one time and that was one fast damn car. Ford, Mopar, Chevy.... I have favorites from all three! :D

Murff
04-16-2007, 05:50 PM
Yeah, it's a little block. 351w, Wieand 289 tunnel ram base, PME intake adapters, sheetmetal top, bugatcher on gas, locally ground custom cam (Delta Cams), Howards lifters with the oil hole, stock stroke, C4, 4000 Hughs, 9" with Strange spool & Dutchman 33 spline axles, Cal-Traks, 26 x 9 Hoosiers, foot brake.

It should run a little better than it did 1st time at the track. Is actually the reason I joined the board, one of the best Enderle discussions I've found (for free). Looking at hre.com but too lo-buck to shell out the $40 to join. Did order his FI manual, tho'.

I was shooting for 10.60 on the build but I don't think that's gonna happen with this combo. If we can tune it down to low 11's then 10's might be in reach if we move over to alky. I'll know more once I figger out how much to lean it out.

Could just be wishful thinking.

If you haven't been able, to tell this is a pretty bucks-down car. The fan is a Summit brand 1100cfm with aluminum blades. It's mounted as a pusher because I mounted the trans cooler behind the radiator.

Haven't put a trans temp gauge in yet but so far then engine hasn't heated past 180 with the water pump on and the fan off. Kind of suprising since we're on gas and not alky.

Gears are 4:11 street gears, plexi side windows are Home Depot, cage is Art Morrison (only a couple of miles from me, convenient) that was actually for a '83 T-Bird I started with my son, but he lost interest in.

When he lost interest I scrapped the 'Bird, after back halfing and building a narrowed 9" for it. We moved everything over to this '39 Studebaker Coupe body I had laying around, built the rest of the frame. but that was just taking way too long so last year we scrapped the coupe, sold off what I could't use and moved everything we could use to the Falcon. Straight axle went to a guy in CA., 4 link and narrowed 9 went to a local guy. Still have front half of the frame upstairs in the garage.

So it only took me 3 cars to finally get one down the track.

Avery; u can make these mustangs run with very little money..its one of the few stock (factory) cars that can be put in the mid 5's (1/8 mile) with very minimal cost compared to other cars..i know you probably will not go that extreme but you can still have you something fun to play with.

a-lot of local guys that just like running fast ( for cheap) take these mustangs (coupe's) and drop chevy motors in them and run mid 5's with less than 3k worth of mods..they run the true street class 29x10's...what makes them work so well is the factory ford suspension works much lika an after market 4 link car.....plus most of the mods in these cars go back to factory bolt in location...tons of stuff you can do yourself..

have fun...Brian

Thanks.
the cougar hasnt even been to the track yet, was planning on taking it this year, but the starter bit the dust and took some teeth with it, and i dont have the money to buy a good flexplate at this time. the car has alot of Good stuff, im not gonna cheap out now just to save a few bucks before its sold. If someone wants to buy the way it is. make a good offer! ,(keep in mind there is prob over 14K into it), and it hasnt been to the track yet. Offers in CASH cause I dont take anything else or give anything else when i buy a car.

Wow!!! There are some amazingly beautiful autos on here and some impressive works in progress!

I'm new and wanted to try to get involved in this community. Found the forum page and though, what the heck! So here I am! :o)

This is my baby!!! She's a 94 Firebird Formula/TA with over 320 Horse power. I've ran low 12's to mid 13's with her in the quarter mile. I wanted a custom flame job on her and I helped mix all the custom colors from the ICI 2K line. There are also 2 different metal flakes on her. A red over the red car and an abalone flake over the flames. The flames flip flop all sorts of color! Some people don't like flames, others do. We're all entitled to our own opinions. Little kids come up to me all the time and ask me if it is a Hot Wheels car. Too cute! I suppose with the wild color changing flames and the 2 flakes that make it sparkle like candy it catches their eye. I've one a couple trophies at cat shows. 1st place 2 years ago! That was exciting for me!

If you want to see LARGER & lots more interior and exterior photographs please visit my website at: http://www.givingearth.com/usedcars-ohio-firebird.html

Peace,
Kandice

Ha, what a whoosy, everyone knows the best thing for a migrain is open headers, the smell of rich exhaust and motor oil.... Fix ya right up....
seriously, I know what it is like to have migrains. Years ago I used to get them at the track on those hot july days, yes even in canada, Driving home for 2 or 3 hours with no air conditioning...not my idea of a good time

Here's a little more data on the car and project. I've had the car since 1986. It went with me to Panama in 1990 while in the Air Force to oust Noriega. Had a great time with it there. After the invation, we used an old air strip and would drag race the locals. Never lost! It was basically a 67 coupe street car with a mild 428cj then. When I got back from Panama I got stationed at Goldsboro NC. There I started modifying it into a street/ strip back half car with an 8 point roll bar, narrowed 9" with 4.56 gears, adjustable coil over shocks, ladder bars and 14X32 tires. Ran 7.50's. I later removed all the interior, glass windows, metal dash and added a fiberglass hood, bumpers and trunk lid (still a coupe). I also built a new 428cj. I installed lexan windows, aluminum interior, one fiberglass seat and repainted the car black again. I have some of those photos if you care to see. I wrecked the car in 2000 at the Ford Expo at Columbus Ohio. Ran 10.60 @ 121 mph. I replaced the front chassis clip and sheet metal from the firewall forward out of a 68 GT, the two left tires and wheels and left rear quarter panel and repainted the car black again!. It took me two years! I raced the car in NC and then in central Fl. till last year that I threw a rod. I decided to build a new engine and re-skin the car with fiberglass parts, add a halo and an Xbar to the cage, window net and a fastback top. That's where I'm at now trying to finish it. The new engine will make approx 680 hp and 640 ftlbs of tq. The wole thing will weig approx 2500 lbs with me and fuel and should run mid 9's. We'll see! George

I hope to take the body off the current home made square tube chassis and drop it over a nice tube chassis like yours someday. Not this time around. Converting the coupe into a fastback with fiberglass body panels is the fourth make over I give my mustang race car. This is what it looked like during the previous phase.
