My new toy... Top Sportsman 1996 Chevy Beretta. I am just bracket racing the car for now with my little 496 in it.

I love that paint scheme. The colors on that badazz ride are the same colors that the wife and I use for our vehicles and horse ranch.

I know that its all "hot rod hues" paint but I am not sure who squirted it. I was told its a 6k paint job.

Dirka it does grow on ya, at first I thought it was too much but now I like it...

Thanks!!!

Yeah it does grow on everybody. Lime Green is actually the color choice for any custom paint job that I do. Somewhere on the car will have Lime Green on it.

Heres one of my rides. I've had the wagon since 1993. It was in a guys backyard along with 8 other projects he said he would get to someday. It was the one he was more willing to part with and the $1600.00 price that we finally negotiated was well within by budget at the time.

Hey MUDWILD those pics look like they were taken at the track I go to(used to go to) ET RACEWAY in Bloomfield IN? Think it's called Lyons now I've heard. Do they enforce the NHRA chassis cert rules and driver licenense?I heard they do but I haven't been since 2008. Your car runs about the same as mine...so just curious if yours is certified and are you licensed?

I know where the track is. Been going there since they opened. When it was called E.T. RACEWAY if you looked up the address it said Bloomfield Indiana. It's in Green County right across from that Turkey Farm that stinks to high heaven in the Summer...but NOW they say it is in Lyons Indiana?? oh well.

Anyway, Thanks for the info .

Do they tech you every week or just once a year? I'm going to try to take mine down to a tech and tune on October 15 and have them look it over to see what must be done to get it certified.

Freakin awesome!....I love it!After I built the 422 motor and dabled around with the gear set(broke a 4.88 set and axle) to a 4.56(lost around tenth to a tenth and half in the 1/8) back to a 4.88.Motor started to break in and air got better and the 60 foot went into the high 20's mine keep getting higher and higher and further out.Came real close to puttin a set of wheelie bars on her.

This will be the newest addition to the camp for us. It will be a 355 roller motor, 750 APD alky carb getting fuel from Magnafuel 275, 1.76 glide from Vickers Transmission and has a 9 inch rear with 4.10 gear. Converter will be 5800 8 inch from Abruzzi. Tires are Hoosier 30x9. Truck will keep the leaf spring to start. If it wheel hops or is too much for the leaf, the provisions to go coil over and ladder bar are there. Would like to upgrade to a full spool and axles from Moser but I will see if these hold up, too.

Hoping to run some box and no box stuff with it. Not sure of the weight of the truck. Bed has had weight removed, interior has had weight removed and the inner fenders are gone. Thinking this should be a 11.40-11.50 player.

You need an account with something like photo bucket. You upload the pics to their site then you can add them to to rj or other forums.

Some updated pics of my ride. Still waiting on the motor. Had to replace all the valve guides and I don't just mean just the guides themself. (they were moving in the heads) The area around my guides has been ported so much that most of the valve guide was showing through. Had to grind it all out and weld it up then put in new guides.

Finally getting somewhere with the updated motor.

It's on the dyno tonight and I can't wait to get it back.

Hey Beast. I think you and I talked about this on the phone one night.
Nitrous is like crack. You hit it once then you can get enough!!

Motor should still be 1,200hp + 3 stages for a total of 950hp of nitrous. I'm not gonna be able to run all three stages until I make some passes and figure out the gear and convertor. I really don't think the convertor I have now will hold all 3 stages.

Motor is still in Tx so I'm cutting it really close to having the truck ready for the 23rd. I'm gonna try as hard as I can!

Thanks. I'm pretty bored just waiting till my motor gets here.

He's gonna drive it if I can get it back in time. I thought I would have gotten it a couple weeks ago.

I don't have a converter to run all 3 stages yet. I'm gonna have to make a few passes with it so I can figure out what gear and converter I need. I'm hoping to be able to run at least 2 stages before the day is over.

I hope to let BJ make a motor pass if nothing else.
Only bad thing is it's to high geared and too tight of a converter to run really good on motor, but that'll be perfect for his first pass.

Were gonna cook a low country boil so I hope he like to eat!

Wish some of you guys were closer and could make it too.

I've got a race in Transfer, PA. on August 25. That's still about 6hrs from your part of MI though.

You guys have some very nice looking rides. Here are some picks of the car I am getting ready for my son to race young guns at a local dirt track. He outgrew his quarter midget and this was the next step that made the most sence since there are 2 dirt tracks with in 15 min of where I live.

Looks like a fun car to advance into the full size stuff ! I'd like to make one safety related suggestion though. That lap belt is waaaaay too long. It will stretch a good 4 inches in a hard frontal impact. You want your son to be strapped in TIGHT, so I've included the below pics showing how i set up MY race cars and any I build for others. Those lap and shoulder belts need to be as short as feasibly possible. You also want to install some sort of protection on ANY metal edging that the webbing will pass through or by to prevent chaffing/cutting.
Your #1 top most PRIORITY is the safety of your driver in ANY type of incident. GOOD to EXCELLENT safety gear from his nose to his toes !

Thanks for the tip. I did not install those and they need to be replaced anyway. I am all about my son being safe. He had been knocked out in his quarter midget when he hit the wall flat out. Right after that I went out and bought him a Hans type neck brace. When I go to put in new belts before we race I will figure out what I can do to set them up better, something like in your picks.

Not a race vehicle to show off, but a new ( to me) truck .
After several years of trying to figure out which way to go, toterhome or living quarters trailer I finally bit the bullet today and started the plan to go with a living quarters trailer.
My 2500 wasn't gonna be up to the task of handling the trailer I wanted (plus it has 245,000 miles) so I bought a new addition to the family today.
It could't let them have my 2500 so I kept it for my every day driver and work truck so I can keep the miles off the dually. Not to mention I don't think I'd like driving the dually every day.
I've looked at hundreds of trucks over the last 6 months and finally found a really good deal at a Toyota dealership in Columbia SC. It's still there and I'll get it in a few days. I even got a heck of a deal on an 24 month or 24,000 mile extended bumper to bumper warranty including electrical for $500. Deductible is only $100 per claim. I thought it was well worth it for a diesel 4x4 truck.

Now I gotta save my pennies up to buy a trailer later this year.

Here it is 2008 3500HD 4x4 with 82,000 miles.
Complete turbo back exhaust, def delete, a programmer and a 70 gallon fuel tank / tool box in the works.

That's my 2500 sitting beside it. I love that truck probably to much

It's an old IHRA Modified car with a 4-link. It will have a 355" SBC, 4-bolt block, steel GM crank, Carillo rods, World Products steel heads, hydraulic camshaft, PTC 'Glide & 8" converter, & a Dana 60 rear. It has 10.5 W's on it now but will hold 16" of tire. The motor is basically a blower motor without a blower, LOL. I plan to put a Pro Charger on it later.

I will race it some but also cruise it...basically just have fun with it!

Joey Kacal's new ride Bounty Hunter. It's at the MRA's first race of 2013 which is in Negreet La. this weekend. I'm not there, I'm at home working to get ready for the April 13 race here in Ga.

Joey's car last year was one of the baddest on the planet and was only 2 seasons old. I'm sure this one will be a serious ride as well.
It's 150" wheelbase. Almost all rails are built 150" because that's the max the rules allow.

3,500 - 4,000hp+ is the range for the top blower cars. The one big limiting factor is we don't allow nitromethane.

Yeah I hear ya there. What makes it worse os this truck is what the guys at the wrecking yards call a " rich mans special order" since it has an automatic trans with a manual shift transfer case. It has been hell trying to find parts for this thing. I also had to replace both front hubs as well as the water pump and tensioner pulley

BJ I thought you'd like this one. Truck hasn't moved 2 feet yet and already has the candles lit! I have a picture just before this one and the truck hasn't moved 4 inches and they're already lit, but I haven't uploaded it yet.

Time for a new toy... Can't afford a Cobra so I picked up a Sebring kit car that was ordered in 1988 and never built. I've already cut into the thing so I can fit some Bullit rims and 345 Nittos under it. !5455
