MOTOR IS 406 CHEVY,4340 CRANK,6 INCH H-BEAM RODS,JE FLAT TOP PISTONS WITH 2 VALVE RELIEFS MAYBE 11.5 COMP?CAM IS SOLID ROLLER WITH ROLLER LIFTERS AND ROCKERS 260/265 @50,678/688 EXHAUST,SUPER VICTOR INTAKE PORT MATCHED TO AFR 210CC HEADS COMP PORTED,PRO SYSTEMS 840 CFM CARB,MSD6AL IGNITION,8 INCH ATI CONVERTER,4:56 RING&PINION,TURBO 350 28X9X15 INCH SLICKS IN A 86 MONTE CARLO.SHOULD I JUST FLOOR IT OR BABY IT A COUPLE OF TIMES?

did you build it to baby?

I would just stomp it !

on race cars i would go balls to the wall every time if its gunna break now itll break later but street i would baby it for a while jmo

MY OTHER MOTOR (406) RAN 11.60 WITH A 510 LIFT CAME 10 INCH CONVERTER AND 3.90 GEARS.

I have 4.56 & 30in tall tires,T-350(that is now broke) 8) and go through the lights at 7000 rpm.

I think you will need a bigger tire.

I baby them first few hits in the spring, better safe then sorry.

1st pass this year took it to 60ft, got to the trailer to check lash and found a rocker arm stud had pulled a heli-coil out of the head. Was better playing it safe..

I had a very similar 406 in my truck and it ran a best of 10.48, but that is weighing in at 2750 with me in it.

Maybe you should have WFO'ed it.

WHAT TYPE OF FUEL SHOULD I RUN TO RACE THIS MOTOR? A 50/50 MIX OF 93 AND 108/110 VP RACING FUEL?

You ever seen a Pro Mod or Pro Stock do a rebuild between races and then baby it? Don't think so.

FIRST PASS 10.60 2ND WAS 10.53 AND I SHIFTED FROM FIRST TO 3RD BY ACCIDENT,IT RAINED AND I DIDNT RUN ANYMORE.I THINK THE CAR WILL GO SOMEWHERE IN THE 10.40'S.

I still think you'll be in the 10.30s before your done. 1.44 aint bad.
