Fast & Furious 4

Any body seen it over the weekend. It's not a bad movie. It's better than the first 3. Of course I only saw #1 once and not the other 2.

And only a car person can tell you that the part doesn't fit a 72 Chevelle.

BEAST477 04-06-2009 12:32 PM

Should be called Fast & Fiction or Fast & Fake just to name a few. They all suck. JMO

CamBirdRacing 04-06-2009 01:14 PM

I mean 70 Chevelle. I agree that they aren't the best movies, but got to have some sort of entertainment. I laughed thru most of the movie.

BEAST477 04-06-2009 02:26 PM

Yeah i know noone has made a good car movie since... I can't even remember. Two lane blacktop or American Graffiti.

Wife and kids wanted to go, so I went. I had to laugh at most of it. I especially get a kick out of the exploding NOS they do in every movie...

I just checked and they have it on netflix.
I added it to my list to see movies.

I think they're still offering free 3 month trial memberships.
That's what we got and then upgraded to the one at a time unlimited movies for $8.99 a month, cant rent 2 dvds at blockbuster for that.

two lane blacktop. great cars bad acting. glad wilson and taylor stayed with music and not acting. but its still one of my favorite movies. hotrod 1024 here on rj found it and bought it and sent it to me. ive bought wore it out now and its only a few months old.bj is right worlds fastest indian is great. old man has more determination that than you could believe possibile. and its shows what one man can do if he believes in himself.watched the first 2 fast and courius.stupid how many kids got killed thinking you could drive on the streets that way.gave drag racing on the streets a bad name lol ken

CamBirdRacing 04-07-2009 03:25 AM

American Graffiti and Hollywood Knights?

The first Smokey and the Bandit? Saw the second one once, never saw the third one.

Car movies

Anybody on here remember an old movie called "Hot Rods to Hell"? It came out in 1966-67, somewhere in that time frame. I was 12-13 years old, saw it at the drive-in. It was on TV, 8-10 years later, that's the last time I saw it. Dumb movie but had some really cool cars in it.

Another one was "Macon County", they made 2-3 different movies. Dumb story but again, some neat cars.

bjuice 04-07-2009 06:15 PM

How about ron Howard in "EAT MY DUST "

i also saw this at the drive inn movies..metal speakers hooked to the roll down windshield of the family car.. :D :D :D

suicidebomb 04-07-2009 06:32 PM

Anybody remember "Vanishing Point". It was a pretty good Mopar movie.

ohh yes..i Bought the new verision 2 weeks ago......the mopar was running 180mph plus when it ran dead into the bulldozer....

Tod74 04-07-2009 10:38 PM

How about in the first one where Vin Diesel says his father crashed coming out of turn 2 in a pro stock race...in the MOPAR with the supercharger...

cepx111 04-07-2009 11:23 PM

White lighting? Burt Reynolds and that 429 cobra jet 4 speed early 70 something LTD

suicidebomb 04-08-2009 04:14 AM

"Bullitt", with Steve McQueen, best car chase ever filmed. Le Mans, nothing on earth sounds like a porsche V-12 at full song, flying down the Mulsanne straight. Except maybe, a V-12 ferrari. Not a car guy movie, but "On Any Sunday", was good too, for the dirt bike crowd. For you dirt track guys, check out "get back to dirt", great movie about dirt track racers at the devil's bowl down in Texas.

Brian, in the original, Kowalski, outran a helicopter in that challenger, and the white car burning at the end of the movie, was a Camaro, in the original.

chevynovaman 04-09-2009 02:34 PM

HOW ABOUT "HOT ROD" THE ORIGINAL MOVIE, GUY BUILDS A WILLYS WITH A HEMI, VERY GOOD...

blowninjected540 04-14-2009 02:45 PM

Seen the movie today not a bad movie alot of action and FICTION, Love the 70 chevelle. :) I see everyone talking about old car movies, i was flipping thru the channels over the weekend how about Mel Gibson in MAD MAX that is always good for a laugh.

Scooterz 04-14-2009 03:15 PM

I don't know which one of the F&F movies it was that I saw, but I only saw one. It had a Black Charger which did a wheelie. That same car was here at a car show in Lane County... IT HAD A HYDRAULIC/WHEEL ASSMBLY THAT LIFTED THE FRONT UP TO MAKE A FAKE WHEELSTAND!!!!! I wanted to spit on that Hollywood POS... any car that requires a lap-top in the drivers seat to tune it while racing is outlawed in my book of cool cars too.

I remember the original "Vanishing Point", Gone in 60, A/G, 2Ln Blktp, & another movie (can't remember the name) where guy's were stealing hot-rod parts to keep racing too. Hey, remember "Death race 2000???" that was cheesy. Man, we need some good hot-rod flicks.

Don't forget that scene in "Bullit" w/ Steve Mcqueen.... scoot

blowninjected540 04-14-2009 03:39 PM

Rigsby, I always wonderd how they did that ? Hyd. wheels to lift the front up in the air .never would of thought of that one.

Scooterz 04-14-2009 04:36 PM

Yep- it had a hydraulic cyclinder built in to the center section of the car that came down w/ wheels that lifted the front.... they had the car displayed that way at the show. Weird....

TheYellaBrick 04-14-2009 04:44 PM

Yeah, it was funny watching that Charger's 'wheelstand'.
Yanking the fronts until the rear bumper dragged ON THE STREET in an unprepared section with all the daily traffic grit to boot and on 10's. So hokey it was hilarious   :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I've got '2 Lane Blacktop' and have just about worn it out also. We need a well acted, produced, and realistic CAR MOVIE !! Ya hear that Hollywierd !!

With all of us boomers out there , it'd make a brazillion bucks !

bowhay 04-14-2009 06:59 PM

i always hated how in the 3rd one they put that damn rice burner 4 banger in that 69 fastback........i meen i may not like fords to much, but to me thats a desgrace to the pony car lol

but then u also have to figure its a movie about drift racing so most people knew goin into it it would be stupid lol

henny 04-15-2009 12:33 AM

My better half and I saw the new fast and furious movie last night. For the 4th movie it was better than I had thought it would be
I do feel kinda' stupid though, spending a lot of my money on suspension parts to get my car too hook and saw that it can be done on Mexican desert with street tires

CamBirdRacing 04-15-2009 06:56 AM

HOOPER Burt Reynolds

tomsmotorsports 04-20-2009 10:39 AM

hey

i agree it's not a bad movie how ever they should have put more car and a little bit less story line but thats my opinion

signsbyesa 04-20-2009 11:16 AM

my son is 23 and we sat and watched "american graffiti" and he
thought it was awesome, he wanted to watch it again, and they
showed an old movie w/dana andrews called "hotrods from hell" and
the street racing is narly, my grandson said the cars were "hotwheels"
cool 60's hotrods, nothing like feeling that radical cam in your seat
