Aftermarket Case
Looking to upgrade to a aftermarket case. What brand is the best and who has the best price on it ?
I've used the reid and seen the bte both look nice, was leaning towards the ATI for price. thanks for the info |
i had a jw ultra bell and just got a jw ultra case from sloan's transmissions in havanna, ill. case was super, went together with no problems, and they are super to deal with. they were the best price ifound on cases. they sell all brands. they advertise on rj.  ask for jim

I alwasy thought the dedenbear case was the better one to have.
It only weighs 25 lbs which is 2 lbs. lighter than stock oem case yet withstands 2000 HP and because its an S.F.I.-30 approved bellhousing, no flexplate shield is required. You can score one for under a grand most anywhere. ><Cp |
i went with BTE case and trans speacialties internals...
only thing about the dedenbear is that they require an internal liner.....the real reason why...i have no clue..but sounds suspicous to me.... the whole purpose for the aftermarket case is to solve the flex issues and not have to run a scatter shield. etc.... i personally think the cheapest one you can find will be the best choice.. they are all SFI cert..if purchased from the companys like ATI,BTE,dedenbear..etc... unless there this anyone out here that knows something more about these cases than i do ??....this could very well be...lol |

The new REID Racing (Dedenbear) 2piece case does not have a liner. The one piece case still has a liner. Matt |
I still use a stock case and factory 1.76 planets.

David, I've used an ATI case and it's a very nice piece. Only problem was that it did't come with any instructions on where to drill for a pro tree brake. I called ATI and they said it was just like a stock case. Unfortunately, while in theory it is, the rear of the case has none of the familiar landmarks, like the horseshoe shaped cutout etc. I didn't have to stare at it for long to figure it out, but some specific instructions would have been nice....

In the DEDENBEAR the liner is in there so you dont have to run a flywheel OR the trans SHIELDS If anuthing blows up youve got the liner !!! And you dont have to mess with the DAM shields!!! Hate the shields!!! David,

You guy that have used the ATI case have you had any problems with it ? I've heard a few problems before and wanted to know if this was in the past or not ?
I lean this way because Top Dragster pays to win with these cases $200 to win and $100 to runnerup and its a decent amount of price difference to start with. But if its going to be a problem case I'll just buy the other. |
I have ran a ATI case for 3 seasons now and have had no problems.
I have a 3000 lb class3 muddrag jeep with over 1300 hp. |
No problems at all. I heard that there were some dimensional issues when using one of the Ford pattern bells, but nothing else. The specs with the Chevy bell were on the money. What have you heard?
|
Heard of several problems with the ati all different from different tranny guys
I pulled the trigger on a new Reid Case today |
All in and a done deal ! Very Nice Cases !
