I love following new builds. A guy can always pick up something new from someone else. Keep the pics and descriptions coming please.

Thanks Curtis. I will take credit for the design and lay out and Steve Kirk Jr. ( 10.5 Outlaw ) is doing the build. I always wanted a 49 built how I had it pictured in my head. I am also putting vintage air. I will update pics as we move forward.

5 window cab. Back from sandblaster..If my budget allowed I would love to place a Magnuson intercooled roots blower on this LS1..this would make my truck complete in my head...maybe next year or if I sell my Nova I will go this route..you can program this LS1 to run gas or E85.....

My motor sure liked the E85 and from what I have read boosted motors love it.

What compression was your motor? Isn't E85 105 octane with a burn rate similar to alcohol/methanol ? My everyday driver is flex fuel but I cannot tell anything different in the seat running E85..but we talking v6 low compression Impala

12.6 to 1
And around here it's less than $3.00 a gallon.

This is a site I found when I was researching changing over to E85

Swiley, Thanks for the E85 link. Very educational. Have been thinking about running E85 in both cars to help with my cooling issues, plus it'd be MUCH cheaper for my big car @ 12.5:1

The one thing I am proud of on this project is the frame was perfect and believe it or not NO BODY FILLER was ever used on the cab, doors and hood..these pics are after sandblasting and you can see how virgin it is. Don't know how many of you have looked at any 40/50 year trucks but no filler and rust free is almost unheard of these days.
