Actually, no hypocracy, but concern of a White Man of his time period. He, like most Northern whites, didn't give a damn what the Southerners did with their Black slaves, so long as they didn't come North and "Mix" with the Whites there . . Lincoln did not believe in Racial Equality and believed that whenever a slave was freed, he should be taken out of the country, repatriated or made citizens of "Elsewhere" . .

If you read President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, his goal to 'free' the blacks were for the Rebel States only. Less manpower,perhaps? Bring 'em North? Just a thought....

To be quite honest,I'm not sure we have ever had a President that you could really trust. Not that they were dishonest,you just cant please everybody all of the time. Interesting link to read. Thanks
