externally balanced 454

have externally balanced 454 short block thats has low miles on it and would like to put in my nova but the motor doesnt have the flex plate on it do i have to take the motor apart and have it rebalanced with a new flex plate or can i just get a new flex plate and bolt it on thanks paul

Just buy a external balanced flywheel.

yup agree with Hammer. you will need a 3 step oil pan to make that fit a nova too cause of the rear mounted steering drag link. jus fyi
