when doing my cam break in i know i need about 2000 rpms at about 20 min
can i just set the idle high and let it run or do i have to manualy do it with my foot

If it's a flat tappet cam,I like to vary the rpm's and not let it stay in the same rpm range for a long period of time 1800 to 2500 or so.I if it's a solid roller,5 minutes bring up to temp,shut it down and check fluid levels,look for leaks and reset lash and timing.then straight to the race track.!!!!LOL

X2 FLAT TAPPET - Vary the RPM to get oil splashed up on the lower cylinder walls/ inside piston skirts. Solid rollers are broken in in 60 seconds / they work or they have failed.

Dont forget to take the long bolt that holds the fuel pump rod in place and install the short bolt as a plug to prevent oil from spraying out the front of the block. learned that one the sucky way.
