I am trying to build . a olds school door slamer car . heavy 3500 +, ladder bars and caged i currently have a munice tranny now , but i don't want to shell , it out and cost me more , than i need to spend , i was thinking of the auto gear or the g force trannys, which one would think will take the abuse , of a high torque olds motor , some where in the area of 650+ hp , i have'nt set up the rear end , and i would like to go with the stiff wall tires , this car wont , be raced every week end be will be abused ,

I don't think a muncie, even an AUTOGEAR muncie, will handle the abuse you are about to throw at it.

Might want to look at a Jerico or some along that line...

Go over to classracer.com and ask a few questions from the stock and superstock guys. There is a wealth of knowledge over there.

You might try here.
http://www.umtrnorth.com/forums/
You have to be a logged in member to view but there's a ton of info there. I have always raced a stick car but my personal experience is limited to toploaders, nash & the Liberty I run now. There's a lot more diversity on the UMTR forum, and a lot of guys with experience with almost every manual tranny out there.
