How soon is too soon to think you've been conned?

I purchased a rear deck lid off of a rj member and since he has recieved payment I've recieved no more messages or replies. Maybe something has kept him from the computer. I don't know. I don't want to jump to any conclusions too soon but how much time should I allow to pass before I become upset.

I would expect a typically reputable seller to keep good contact, provide info about shipping costs and insurance and make sure that delivery is confirmed. At a minimum to reduce liability.

Failure to respond is indeed a red flag, and concern is warranted. I would recommend websearching the seller's name, phone number etc to see if anything is out there on him. Also full disclosure on this Forum could lead to additional information.

He has your money and thus a responsibility. Failure to keep contact should appropriately lead to action on your part.

Excuses are cheap and abundant these days.

Just doing a little research on how to find this person. I've learned he is also a member of nastyz28.com also using sexytransam as his screen name. Somewhere I saw his last name is hash but I can't find that again. I don't rememebr where I saw it but I did. Buyer I suggest you get shipping confirmations and if you dont get them, then file with paypal now. You only have a fixed period for a claim and you can always retract once you get your stuff.

If the seller is ticked he can blame himself for not responding to prior calls and emails.

Camaro540- do not be a nice guy on this anymore, promises and excuses seem to be pretty worthless these days (Ask Littlerod, Mike2124, Freddie Gendall, Ramage, Gaylord Dick and so on).

I called his home last night thanks to the phone number I got from whitpages.com (thanks for that tip). He also told me he had a problem getting the money from paypal. He did say the trunk lid will be shipped out today. As of 6:29 pm my time I have not recieved the tracking number or a message from him. I will wait until monday before contacting paypal. I will give him the weekend to get me a tracking number. After that I'm calling it off and will go after my money. Thanks for all ya'lls help. I don't think I would have thought to look for him online like I did if I haden't read comments and suggestions from this post and others that I have read. Thanks again, Mark

If he calls you with a tracking # as soon as he ships it, it may not show up yet. It usually takes a hr or two for tracking #'s to show on the web.

I have recieved a tracking number from him. Everything looks like it will turn out fine now. I was not looking to make any enemies here. Just looking for info. I understand you are a busy young man kyle. I hope this does not change your mind about dealing with honest people here. I think everyone here just wants a fair shake. Just be sure to keep in good contact when people are sending their hard earned money, especially in these poor economic times. Just a small note telling about the paypal trouble would go a long way to keep someone in the loop.

I tried the tracking number and ups could not locate the shipping details for this package. I'm sure it will later on. I will post up as soon as it does. Sorry for any confusion on your part or mine and have a good weekend.

I just checked the tracking number with ups. This is what it says. UPS has recieved an electronic transmission of shipment detail from the shipper. Once ups has possession of this shipment, the tracking status will be updated.

It is 5:08 pm my time (central). I will check back in a few hrs to see if it is updated. I am assuming since this message is appearing on their site that he still has the deck lid and not yet shipped it. I've never seen this message before. Is this normal or odd? I quess I should wait another day or two.

Not necessarly, if he dropped it off at a UPS station, such as the one i do, where UPS picks up once a day, instead of comming to a person house, it want be logged in until it's at a UPS terminal.

a lesson learned? maybe the lesson is to not be so damn impatient. i have sold and bought many thing and never talked to the person. i buy and sale through pay pal for a reason. because if u do get fucked over they will cover it most the time, they have for me a few times. there was no reason to call me a scammer only days after the sale. and for only $125 thats just retarded. i now wish i would have just thrown the damn thing away instead of sellin it so cheap to some one that could have used it.

I don't think you are a scammer. If I were going to deal with you and read this thread I would not hesitate to buy from you based on what is here,so I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as that goes...but the F BOMBS don't belong here.This isn't Yellowbullet.
