KLR650 or XR650L owners?

I'm thinking about selling my VTX1800 and buying a dual purpose bike. The 2 at the top of my list is the KLR and the XR. I was just wondering if there were any owners here with opinions on them. I like the looks of the Honda But most people say the Kaw is a better street bike.

I have owned the XR loved that bike. Never had any problems with it, sold it when my first son came along, wish I still had it. :(
