This could work!

Thought this was interesting:

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in
a 'We Deserve It Dividend'.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000
bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman
and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals
$425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a
'We Deserve It Dividend'.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else.

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company
that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed
Forces.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult
U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG - liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can 'never work.'
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion

We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in
Washington DC.

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because
$25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.

Kindest personal regards,

Birk

T. J. Birkenmeier, A Creative Guy & Citizen of the Republic
PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it's either good for a
laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85
Billion!!

Do the math, genius, 85 bil divided by 200 mil is $425 each, barely 1 nite on the town for everybody.

$425.00 still probably better than bailing out AIG, just so they can misuse theyre assets again. Todays CEOs aren't thinking career goals they just want to rob as much moneys as possible before the company folds. Then they go on theyre way to the next company. Does a bailout send a positive signal to other companies and CEOs. I think a prison sentence for misrepresenting moneys is that amout might be in order. Do something to deter these type of actions not set a presendent for others.

Well Boys, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Excetutives are big supporters of Obama & have helped his campain... now they need us to "bail" them out. Furthermore, his campain money has also come from other countries too. The whole thing STINKS. What about all of the property & assests (such as foreclosure)??? I say SELL IT ALL to other mort. groups, & say good bye to the whole thing.

Acutally the thruth about Fannie and Freddie started back in the late 90's when the Clinton administration push them to lower their lending standards so that sub-standard mortgages could be made to less than worthy credit people...
but i have no doubt they are obama supporters also

BJUICE: I read that old 1999 New York Times article you might be talking about too... the Clinton admin. was pushing lower standards & Feddie & Fannie became whores... now look at us. We are paying the price for alot of mortgages that were given to minorities who probably should not have had them in the first place. Thank you Bill Clinton.... your legacy contiues on...

ohh don't get me wrong..it was something that had to be done on a international. level...its just sad how it got there and who had to be responsible for the bail out....
sort of like the master bail out plan to the tune of (700 billion) for thre idiots behind the Mortgage deal.....i do not like it but it seems at this point a neccessary evil..
as they say..Chit rolls down hill..

It's like Jay Leno said the other night. You take a failed administration, and a failed congress, and give the same moron failures, that caused this problem in the first place, 800 BILLION DOLLARS. What could possibly go wrong? There is absolutly no provision for this bailout in the constitution, but since when, did our arrogant servants in Washington, ever pay any attention to the constitution?

Hey everyone, I have been away for awhile... working alot lately... BJUICE: I agree with everything here about this whole thing... really stinks for the common man!! What memo are you talking about? What am I missing? I am not the best navigator around here. MOPAR: no more heart attacks!!! maybe you should race more & keep your sanity that way. I hope you your wife gets to keep your investment... I heard GWB talking about this whole thing... I will take a hit on my 401K, but he thinks it will bounce back again. SUICIDE: Whats Up!! That's what I'm talkin' about... tell it like it is... those folks up there don't care about your or me...or the constitution. It's true- what happend to the old days??!! Rigsby.

I heard that our fearless leader, Dubya, signed an executive order, allowing federal troops to patrol the streets of American cities. This has not been done since the civil war! Is it possible they've got neferarious plans in the works? The president can suspend the election under his executive powers, in times of national emergency. This could make Rome burning, seem like a family BBQ. No offense intended Blittle.

A Civil War.... Blue against Red... would end some of this non-sense. We could make our Govenment actually work for the people of this country, Maybe Sean Hannidy could be president, BLOW-Bama would be sent to Pakistan indefinately, all his followers & liberal friends would all be shipped to Iraq. We would drill (make more race fuel refineries too) & God could come back to our Schools again. Gay people could be just plian GAY... we do not have to give them MORE rights because of it & it would not be a HATE CRIME because of it either... not allowed to be in Boy Scouts either. ACLU & all emplyees would be subject to same rules as the Liberals... Jesse Jackson would be given a gag-order to shut his babbling. All celeberties would NEVER be granted to speak about politcis EVER again to the public. Sean Penn would be sent to Venezuela to live with Hugo Chavez for the rest of his life. Last, if we won our Civil War... the Consitution would be restored to the original condition it was founded on... like the 10 commandments. OK, I'm done. Rigsby
