Here it is from another board,I didn't think this place was this bad,but it came from the horses mouth or his ass,help me decide?? I am really doing a bad job here?I guess they stripped this place of all the knowlegeable people,(cream of the crop) and left all the trash here,this is what I am getting,maybe I am taking it wrong here,can you guys help me out?I am confused.

Thanks guys. You know, when you believe in something it's not hard to find a way to help all you can. I believe in this board. It's the best of it's type I have seen, meaning all you guys make it what it is. And it's certainly the best managed. Just a compliment, Ken. Not a&& kissin. =; There's a couple of good technical boards out there but they're not well managed and one in particular is almost as bad as RJ with all the personal insults. All that stuff does is take away from commraderie and the sincerity of the technical advice. I'm proud to be a part of what we have here as should each of you.

i have been on this board going on 5 years so i can speak as far back to let people understand just where that comment from George came from. i know George from the forums as well and he is a nice guy..so let me try this.....

back over 2 years ago there was NO moderater or ANY form of control on the RJ forum..i mean there was some major throat cutting going on..a few members such as myself,Tom,Ken,Mel and a few others ask RJ for help in this matter but got no response....so Ken decided to open is own website forum MSV so all that was tired of what George mentioned could go over to MSV and not have to deal with the hostile enviroment that only a few was doing or causing... ( not EVERYONE)...

Many people jumped ship to go to MSV and never came back...

what happened in between is that Tom Mcdunnah took over as head moderater and stopped the bashing and insults etc...This is when i came back to RJ.....RJ is the place we all would like to be this day and time..WE (RJ) welcome each other comments with respect and dignity. We also accept new members with open arms...not to mention we ( RJ) is one of the IF NOT THE best (web-site) for advserising your racing parts/cars wheather buying or selling..Yes you have some scammers that come thru the site...BUT YOU WILL HAVE THIS ANYWHERE..you have to stop and think of the reason why..ITS BECAUSE RJ IS A HIGH PROFILE site with many members and customers...wherever you have this kind of traffic your gonna pull the bad with the good cause WE ARE JUST THAT POPULAR..WE (RJ) ARE NATIONALLY KNOWN...

Now i do not have a problem with MSV...but i will say that George WAS OUT OF LINE by posting that comment even if it were on MSV site....if it were true then i would be ok with it...George was one of the guys that left RJ a few years back when there was problems with a FEW members on RJ that was personally attacking and critizing other members post.....i cannot blame him for giving a pep speech to his site members but leave RJ out of it or at least be accurate with your statements..i would think ken and George would expect the same from us.

i am More than confident if George or ANY OTHER MEMBER from MSV or any othwer site out there came to RJ and seen what we are about now they would have nothing but good things to say about RJ...

just stop and think how QUICK SCAMMERS ARE DEALT WITH...How Quick any off color jokes or comments are dealt with.....all of this is handled on the spot if it happens at all...its getting to where there is little problems here on RJ....Including "NO CLICKS"...everyone is treated the same and included on all post.

That is the way its suppose to be,,we are all to get along ans support one another....

i will have to say THAT WE HAVE SOME VERY BRIGHT AND TALENTED MEMBERS ON THIS SITE THAT WOULD MATCH WHITS WITH ALMOST ANYONE OUT THERE.......
Tom has done an excellent job moderating this forum an getting us to where we are now...I WILL ALSO DO MY PART in helping assure that everyone of you has A place to come to where you can share your thoughts and ideas without any problems or backlash from anyone......

Please post your thoughts and ideas here...FOLKS WE HAVE A GREAT PLACE....ALL OF US NEED TO BE PROUD OF THAT FACT...and understand when your AT THE TOP IT IS VERY LONLEY..

Well after a few posts,I guess I was reading to deep into Georges Posts.He has appoligized to me and he was talking about 2 years pryer to the forum being moderated,I got that,settled,

Now while I was over there I got a PM of someone complaining to me about some of my decisions I have made here in the last couple weeks,hmmmm I guess I was bad but apparently I lost an other member because of my doings,I don't know what it is but I hope to find out,soon

I'm one of the "new kids on the block", having only been a member for 3 or 4 months. All I know is that I've talked to a bunch of nice guys, found some cool deals and saved some cash, listened to some EXPERT advise (take the suspension article, for instance), and had some laughs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, ain't that the point?

P.S. Tom, your okay in my book!! And, if I did have a problem with ya, I'd talk to you one on one in private, be damned if I'd say or write anything about a man in public I hadn't said to his face first!

Glad to hear it worked out with George.

As far as the pm about the improvements over last few weeks, if he does not agree with your actions and cannot come to you personally and has to spread his poison on another site, I say let them go, they were not worth you fighting for in the first place.

I am proud to be a member here and have seen vast improvements, not only in the site, but in our members as well.
Almost all due to one great guy Tom Mcdunnah. He has weeded out alot of the bad wood and invited some heavy hitters in the world of drag racing.
I personally admire and appreciate that.

I will agree with B here I'm sure 100% George meant Nothing bad about tom in noway George is a super guy Just like B said George is also a honest guy and like all you guy's he will help in anyway he can trust me here back when all this crap was going on there was a lot of members that would never post a thing because of a few bad apples me included iv been a yearly member for almost 3 years and have made a lot of friends on this site . but that's how MSV got started because of no Moderators to handle the problem and i will say tom has done one helluva job fixing problems on this site and like George tom is a super guy also .
Over On MSV is also a great bunch of guy's and a ton of knowledge also and I'm sure tom will back me up on that tom knows most all those guy's there and they know tom and highly respect him.

i will vouch for george. i have been a member of MSV since it started and i really like it over there. George is a good guy, and always wants to help in whatever way he can. of course this matter has been taken care of already and doesn't need my input, but as a member of both boards, i feel i am obligated to state that no hard feelings should be had by anyone on either forum!

now in the next breath i will also say that this board has come a long way since tom started as the moderator. i also enjoy coming over hear and reading the posts here also. this board has a larger mix of people and therefore a larger mix of info. the people here are great as well, and just like msv the people are like family.

Great site here. I get some valuable info off this site especially concerning scammers. My buddies and I have bought three cars and one motor so far in the past year from RJ so we research a little here first. Keep up the great work!

i would have to agree with brian talk is way to cheap on the internet. we on here as a group is one of the finest group of racers that i have ever found! and im old! ive enjoyed countless phone convos with several guys on here about different stuff including racing set ups etc... ive never attacked any one or have been attacked by anyone and ive been a member here for along time. ive learned alot and met some great people from this site and hopfully given some good advice as well. as stated above this site is for racers helping racers. the site is great for information,selling our stuff,buying stuff trading stuff where else can you do that on a world wide scale? huh tell me! i just got finished talking to a guy in spain! also gotta email from"down under" . canada as well! this is the site to be a member on! i just wish i could sell something!!!!!! lol mike in new mexico

I am a member of both RJ and MSV among others. I think this is just a misunderstanding. At times when we think and type, it always doesn't come out the same. I've known George and Tom for several years and don't think either has any ill will towards the other. I'm sure George was referring to the time before Tom took over as Moderator. It did get bad in here. If you posted advice there was one guy that would dispute anything you said right or wrong back that up with name dropping and tell the guy who asked the question to call him at his business. I'm very glad Tom got this site going on the right track again.

To Tom and all the members of RJ (of which I'm one):

I see my errant post made it's way over here. I also see some of the guys cut and pasted my remarks to Tom afterwards and I have to say that I'm glad I have friends watching my backside. :oops: :oops:

But I want to personally apologize to all you guys and Tom right here on RJ. For you guys that haven't been members or been on this forum for a couple of years, you probably feel like like I slapped you in the face and that is understandable. For the guys that have been around longer than that, you knew exactly what I was referring to. There are actually 2 RJs...one before Tom and one after. In my post on Motorsports Village I was referring to the former although I failed to mention that fact because I guess I thought my audience knew what I was talking about. In hindsight, that wasn't very responsible of me. Even though I knew what I was talking about, there are a lot of new members on MSV and here on RJ that have no idea or how and why MSV came to be in the first place. You know what they say about "assume" and did I ever make an ass out of me!

Anyway, to bring you "new" guys up to date, MSV was started because of all the mudslinging that was going on here DURING THAT TIME. The RJ forum was not moderated and it just got out of hand. About the same time MSV was started and a lot of us jumped ship, Tom was given the job of cleaning this place up and what a great job he has done. If he hasn't deleted the old posts you can go way back and see what we had to contend with then. I'm sure my post from MSV will then make more sense.

I do wish that Tom had pm'd me before copying my post here and I would have explained and edited my post to clarify what I meant. But that's water under the bridge. I hope there's no hard feelings. There's none on my part.

So come over and see us at MSV. We'll treat ya so many ways you'll have to like one of them! :)

Thanks George you are a stand up guy in my book,Sorry but I think I read too deep into your post yesterday,and after the re-edit its all clear to me now,I have no hard feelings what so ever,not then or now,

I feel everyone is entitled to their own opinion on things,lots of times its ok to disagree and debate,but to argue and name call like in the past,well that wasn't very good,I would hope that when such debates happen people will understand the true meaning of this forum,as well as MSV,
Friendship,and guys helping one another to achieve their goals,thats what its all about,people helping people,and friendship is a very strong bond.

Its one thing to learn and debate,but name calling,fighting is not going to happen here,hopefully again.
If anyone has a problem and I don't catch it,please let me know and I'll address the issue in a timely mannor,

I'd like to offer anyone,that has questions or answers to any of the threads to please give their input,as they are more then welcome here.

To all those that replyed to this thread,thanks for replying,this thread was not to bash George or anyone,when I read the original post I thought I was doing a bad job here,it was like a reality check for me,I just wanted several opinions,you know some times a person thinks they are doing the right thing,when they were doing it all wrong.I didn't think it was so,

One other thing,George,I had a mishap here about 6 weeks ago and lost most all of our posts since this forum started,so we basicly started over here with very few posts, (One thing to those that do forum Admin,Don't touch the pruning button ask questions first) :P in the first week of May,07 also there were 1100+ porn spammers in the member list that got the boot.
Since then we have had 255 new members sign up and post,they were members of the classified site as well as new people.Thanks everyone that helped pick the site back up and get back on track,I have had very positive results,I felt.

Also We added a few new members to help make this board because I can't do it myself,its too much on me.This is the reason why the guys at RJ didn't have the time to work this board,and I understand it now.Anyone that runs a board will know why,It may look easy but its not,

I can't say enough for Ryan and PJ, and the rest of the RJ gang they have been the greatest people to know.

I know this forum has helped RJ I have seen the results,its working,and the Scammers are still running wild,but some are not running very far,we have had great results in there tracking and contacting and getting results,but there are still some that have had losses.
I'd have to thank those that help in that section to get results,My hats off to you,great job guys.

One thing,check the user section,scammer section before you buy,it might save you some grief,I see it time and time again,people only come looking in here when the mail didn't come,only to find out they been ripped off or been in a rob Peter to pay Paul situation.

One last thing here,a site or forum is only as strong as their members,please join up and participate,there is strength in numbers,some one always knows someone,and the internet is a very powerful tool,so with that said,lets all support the sites that support you.

Hey Guys, I'm not going to defend myself on this subject forever. Tom and I have put it to bed. I'm not an "ol' coot" and I don't purposely badmouth undeservedly. I just didn't differentiate which RJ forum I was talking about...the old one or the new one, and yes Virginia, there IS a difference. Yes, things were that bad back then. If you weren't there then you have no idea what I'm talking about. Tom was there, Bjuice was there, Corey was there, Bubstr was there, Ron was there and they ALL know how bad it was. If you look at RJ today you see none of that so it shouldn't be too hard to figure that the comment I made was a reference to the old days at RJ. How bad do you think things have to be in order for a group of guys to complain to the management, and after getting no resolution to the problem, break off and start another forum??? Pretty bad. It was full of personal insults mostly instigated by one individual but it only takes one or two bad apples to spoil the whole crop. And it was badly managed or it wouldn't have gotten to that point. In fact, I think it was the starting up of MSV that was instrumental in waking Ryan and PJ up to the point they decided to delagate some authority and got Tom involved to clean the place up. I'm not making this stuff up. Read the entire thread. All the guys that were here then have backed up what I have said and that was the situation I was referencing in my original post. Simple as that. Let's move on. There are more important and funs things to discuss than someone's "mistyping".

I have enjoyed this forum for a few weeks now. The only other forum that I frequent is the FE forum because that's the engine that I've been running for the last 20 years +. I'm a drag racer and have been looking for a forum of drag racers. I think I have found a home in RJ. I thinks this forum is well managed and has an up to date format. For what I have seen, there is talent, knowledge and experiance here in abundance. The home built as well as the proffessionaly built cars all reflect this. I'm glad this forum is here and for one will keep being part of it as long as permitted. Keep up the good work! :wink:

Now with that said,George is 100% right on his posts about the past,we were here and it wasn't pretty,with no control.

Now its totally different,well we try to make it better for everyone here that has an opinion.

I said it before and I'll say it again,I have no problem what so ever with anyone on any forum.I like to have fun just like the next guy,but mostly its in fun. :P Some of you know I like to Razz people,but I hope its not taken the wrong way,sometimes it is I usually appoligize anyway if it affects someone when I am confronted. When I am wrong I'll admit it.I have not a problem with it.

Anyway,I think George is a stand up guy here,and had lots of laughs with George,with some of his humor,I consider him as one of my southerner friends,and I have alot of them :P

i don't know how many post that i have made in the last year or so but it's a lot compared to before tom has done a unbelievable job since he took over and continues to do so.
i was like the fourteenth person to join MSV and i enjoy the site very much they are a great group of guy's and I'm on there everyday .
Both places have a lot to offer and George is a great guy and a great addition to the MSV admin. group.
and I'm proud to say that iv seen both these guy's effort to do a outstanding job and handle things like men the way it should be .
