The best thing to do is to gather all your info about this matter..Then email it to [email protected] and send it attention PJ....He will look it all over.... This site does not condone poor business practices or scammers....if you can back your story up I think then you may see they no longer advertise here and they will also be contacted by RJ and given a chance to make this right with you, from there I would suggest you come back and let us know...Good luck and you have made a good first step in my opinion...

Same thing happened to me with a hood for a 65 chevelle. I didn't get the hood in time to sell the car over the off season--still have it---i wouldn't be doing business with that outfit again.Seems they have plenty of time to post ads and cash your checks.

Just an update!..I replied to an "ad" that Bruis Glass Works STILL has on here and asked ol' Troy where our order was.....He actually emailed back on the PM and says "well, Mrs. Thompson I read your post and I will do everything I can to get it shipped out this week..I am sorry that it has take so long to get to you...Thanks, Troy...By the way I hope that your posting made you feel like a bigger person..You'll be pleased with your parts.." ...WHAT AN A$$ !!!!!!!!!....WHAT PARTS BUDDY??? SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG??? THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN 3 MONTHS THIS COMPANY HAS HAD ANY CONTACT WITH US -- He's always avoiding phone calls and emails sent thru their website...Bigger Person???..Hell yeah!..I "replied" that if I can stop anyone else from being scammed, I AM A BIGGER PERSON...At least I know WHEN TO TELL THE TRUTH...

Wesley..Bit of good news!...Got ahold of another member from here on Racing Junk and he's fit to be tied like all the rest..That makes 6 people I have on the list to give to the atty...Also, and your gonna LOVE this....TROY ACTUALLY CALLED MY HUSBAND at work, after my little ad "reply" to him...Of course, he called when hubby was at lunch, but here's what he says..."tell him that his order will be there this week" (reply by the owner of hubby's work) "ok...do you want to call back after 12:30?? Hel'll be back from lunch then?"...(reply by Troy) "No, I'll be in court this afternoon"...AHAHAHAHA....Let's hope he realizes that he MAY have to get used to GOING to court...ALOT!!...Will keep ya updated on what the lawyer says tomorrow...Thanks for the encouragement!!..Cynthia

Hi Everyone...Just wanted to say THANKS to all the guys that have listened to me ramble on here on RJ and that I've personally called and talked with!..You all have given me a lot of steam to keep pushing forward with trying to get us our stuff!..I've got the phone call into Justin Courtney (atty. in Vivian) and have given all our names and numbers to the secretary (He's out 'til Thursday)..HOPEFULLY, he will call everyone so he can get our side of the story and know that we weren't the only ones that were taken.and that this has gotten WAY out of hand!!..Also, Troy DID call back today at hubby's work and told him our order will be sent this week --- And that the thing I wrote about the possibly scattin' off the the Carolina's is "untrue"..Well, first off, don't think this guy knows anything about the word "true" and second, that piece of information came directly from the Pros. Atty. in Vivian---wasn't MY made up story...Guess Troy didn't know that I also called his office that I asked to speak to his partner, T. Wilson, and the secretary said "he's not here right now..He's in S. Carolina"..???..Untrue??? It's understood that either Troy's step-brother or brother-in-law owns a Boat Fiberglass place in the Carolina's..So, you tell me Troy--what ARE ya doin?..Just visitin' in the Carolina's???..Might want to call the Pros. Atty. and let HIM know...Anyhow, will let you all know who calls when and IF (hahahahaha) our parts show up!..Keep the faith !...

Don't get too excited about your order being shipped. You'll still be out of money b-c the fiberglass he sent me was knotty as a old farm dirt path.

I still have our e-mails on file. He was satisfied, that i should be satisfied, i reckon. The Man has issues, like a cheap backyard used car dealer!!!

Here is just one e-mail Troy sent me.
"I hope you're happy with your new frontend and you're happy with whomever you get it from. Our products do speak in great success of our quality. You go your way and we'll certainly go ours, if along the way I could help you I would, this is the difference between a REAL man and a childish little boy hiding behind a keyboard. Do all the searches you want, it doesn't bother me, it's your time do with it what you will. I have never publicly slammed, belittled, or degraded you in any way, we are above that.I again challenge you, show me with a marker where it's warped, twisted or whatever. We looked at the mold again tonight and it's not twisted, warped or anything like you make it out to be. I hope that one of my competitors will make you happy and you can get along with your life. We again wish you well and a continued success in your racing endeavors. Oh yeah, I am sending you a Christmas present it should arrive in the mail by Christmas, I sat back and thought of the one gift that I could get you that you could really use, I hope you enjoy it and you learn something from it.
Mr. Parrish you are going to do whatever you can to hurt my business reputation, of this I am sure. In life you will find that what comes around goes around, karma is the cruelest evil of all. We do alot for drag racers families that have lost their lives in pursuit of this sport. We donate bodies(Jr. Dragster) to several different groups that help give underpriveleged children the opportunity to experience the thrill of racing as long as they keep their grades up in school and stay out of trouble. We help young racers out and help them get started in this sport by donating some fiberglass parts. We are good people trying hard to make it in this business and I'm sure that overcoming the BS that you have stirred up is going to take a while but it will be overcome, like I said before alot of the people that know you personally have told me that you are an ass and they'd have never done what we done for you. I defended you to them and told them that I felt that you're just disgruntled and it'll pass and they insist that you're just a prick and that's how you are. I disagree with them, I believe that you're basically a good person that is just unhappy with what you've recieved from us, we've gone as far as we're going to go with this. If you ever need some help give us a call and I'll do what I can for you. I, nor our business is a "joke" but your opinion is your opinion (BTW, you spell opinion -- o-p-i-n-i-o-n NOT onion) reading your email gives me a headache, you need to learn how to spell. I can forgive and understand grammatical errors, heck everybody does that, but your spelling needs some help. We will go on and continue to be successful in this business and hopefully our paths will cross someday and I can look you in the eye and shake your hand and tell you congratulations in person on your drag racing achievements. We wish you well and continued success.

Flipper...Yeah, when hubby said Troy "apologized like crazy and said without fail it'd be sent this week", I almost had to call the paramedics, my sides were splittin' so much!..LOL.. ..I'm not counting on ANYTHING....Troy MAY have had some good in HIM at some point in time, but seems to me that that age old sin called GREED got to him...I can't, for the life of me, understand WHY he doesn't get it???...Does he really think this is the way to run an ACTUAL business??...I DO know business's that are run like that and their OUT of business...I can't believe he doesn't "know" that he could get in some serious sh$$ here by violating all kinds of state, internet, banking & Federal laws !!...I'm not slamming his product--hell, I don't even know what they LOOK like!...I'm slamming his business practices!!...I've got another guy I talked to that says he FINALLY got his order, but some of it was cracked and sent the wrong hood...If THAT'S his best, then maybe he needs better workers or get out of the business...He can "donate" all he wants...Our TROOPS are donating their LIVES overseas to protect his greedy a$$...Now THAT'S a REAL MAN (or WOMAN)...I can't back down from what I've begun...I aim to see that at least the people I've talked with and us get what we've paid for...

I know

The first order he shipped to me was on time. The fender was twisted though. That's what my initial problem with him was. The bull he tried to pull over on me about it. First admiting there was a problem with the fender after looking at the pics i e-mailed back to him, then a month later saying there wasn't anything wrong with it at all. Told me i was seeing things.
The guy is full of it. Sent us another front end twisted worst than the first one. I quess that was my christmas present.

Hey all...Most of the one's I've talked with know I called and gave their names to the atty. in Vivian last Tuesday..He was out of town until mid-Thursday..Called today and secretary says my info is on his desk and expected him to return from court around 4:00 this afternoon..More than likely he won't call any of us until next week -- Also, as of 4:42 today, still no fiberglass..But then Troy says that it was going to SHIP this week...Says that most of the posters were just mad at him or that they were just "jumping on a bashing bandwagon", so to speak...I know without a doubt that the ones I've talked to personally are NOT on a witch hunt -- everything we all talked about was way too familiar to my own situation...If any of you want some of the numbers that I've called about Troy, please just email me and I'll be happy to send them to you!...Keep the faith going!...

I have recently worked with troy on several parts. The best way i found to contact him is via e-mail. He does respond daily to it. He has had some problems lately, but he seems to be working on fixing them. As with anyone, negativity doesn't really help. I called him often and he didn't always answer. But i did get my stuff done within 3 to 4 weeks. The quality was not bad either.

Troy called today and asked why,I told him about this forum and he said most posters work for other glass places and try to stop his business.
It really sucks what to believe.
He told me to resend the 2000.00 and he would COD the rest when i get my body.
Troy said attorneys are involved over this forum.

i really need a straight answer from somebody that has recieved parts from this guy.

sp729 This is just my opinion. If you are putting out quality product and doing it in a timely manner. Am I going to be able to hurt someones business by posting something on racing junk true or not. So my suggestion would be go with the first feeling that you got before you asked for a straight answer an that will be your safest bet.

Here is the answer for which you search..I do not work for any fibber-glass company but I do read the scammer section and this is 4 pages long and more than one person says this mans workmanship is terrible and his taking peoples money and not sending the product is great...Before the archives were lost on the site there were more pages of the same complaints.. Take the money and not send the product and tell them anything to keep them off his rear...So if the attorneys didn't read this right I will be glad to tell them in person when served a subpeona...If you want to throw your money away then send the money to him :!: Okay :?:

Well (sp729),
I live about 125 miles from where Bruis Glassworks is located. I also live 30 miles from Twin Cities Dragway. we have lot's of good cars around here and i ask around, no one uses his product that i talked too.
I've been following this thread since the beginning and haven't said anything because i donot know the person. Howevr i did a google search today and found out that Troy Bobbit is only the marketing manager there and some one by the name of Tee Wilson owns the place.
I'm not in any way taking sides here except to say that if he has peoples money he needs to produce and ship the orders he has before taking other people money. He sounds like a couple of engine builders here, taking peoples money to keep the shop afloat.
I agree with most of the posters here that you could have ended up just another statistic with your money gone and no parts to show for it. I also doubt that the people posting here are working for other glass companys just trying to put him out of business, come on if these people were in the glass works why would they buy from him as he indicated in his phone conversation to you.
I also strongly disagree with an ad that says free shipping and then the order is shipped COD on the shipping cost to the buyer. All of this sounds like he is trully a scammer in my eyes and doesn't deserve to do business with racers like us who work very hard for what we have and what we want to buy to make our cars better.

So SP729 i would say you made the right choice to walk away, also if it would have been me in some of these complaints i would drive the 2 hrs. and we would really have a sit down talk.

Just my .02

I purchase one of there products from them years ago and it was terrible. It was a hood and on side was about 1 1/2 inches of at the back of the hood and on the other side it was about 2 1/4 off (if I remember correctly) the middle of the hood was sunk in like the laid it down on the floor before the mold set. I run a supercharger and the hood was sunk in so bad that the hood wouldn't close. It was so bad the I couldn't use it at all. Plus the conners of the hood was sitting at about a 90 degree angle up in the air. I contacted troy and of course we went round n round about it but in the end I just gave it away and took it as a bought lesson. THe guy I gave it to tried it and gave it away also (ha ha) I've seen the it recently and i walk up to the guy and "said that my old hood," he said no i got this form a buddy of mine". he told me his name and that was the third owner so that made him the forth. I told him about all the problems the hood had and he started laughing and said yeah this it I had to cut it in the formt and reshape the whole thing and I still can't get if straight. He asked how you knew that this was my old hood I told him to look at the cowl its sunk in about 2 inches lower that a normal hood . I have several friends that race with me and after that we decide to do a group order to harwood. It's sad to say but no one in this area uses their product. ( THat I NO OF)
just my encounter!!!!!!!! harwood and VFN etc. they've been aound for a long time
p.s. I'm form LA.

We are good people trying hard to make it in this business and I'm sure that overcoming the BS that you have stirred up is going to take a while but it will be overcome, like I said before alot of the people that know you personally have told me that you are an a$$ and they'd have never done what we done for you.
Troy Bobbitt- Bruis Glassworks"

Doing business with Bruis Glassworks has been an experience. The contact person Troy, was very eager to please and quite a likeable guy. However, when it comes to actually receiving merchandise from this company, Troy has avoided phone calls, refused to call back after numerous attempts to contact him or someone else in the company. I checked with the Better Business Bureau (after the fact) and was shocked to discover that Bruis Glassworks has 5 unresolved complaints. Four of the five complaints are the exact same issue that I have experienced with Bruis. When I was able to actually speak to Troy, I asked about the record with the BBB, his statement to me was that these issues HAD been resolved with the customers in question, however he did not have the time to make the BBB aware of the now satisfied customers. As a company, I can not in good conscious recommend Bruis Glassworks to any of our customers, due to the experience we have had. Bruis Glassworks has had our order since October of 2006. The company has also had our money since then as well. Part of what we ordered finally arrived in late Feb. 2007- we are still missing parts. Mr. Bruis Glassworks (Troy) has personally assured me (when I was able to actually speak to him after dozens of attempts) that the parts I need are going to be shipped out the following day. It is now the middle of Aug. 2007- Bruis Glassworks has had our money almost a year, we still do not have the total order. I will say in the defense of Bruis Glassworks, that the product we have received thus far, has been extremely satisfactory, based solely on the product, I would love to recommend this company to our clients...nevertheless, the company has yet to follow through, therefore, We cannot support this type of business practice.

Just to let you know.... I received a phone call this morning about 6 min. after posting the above...Troy assured me that my shipment was sitting on the dock ready to be picked up by UPS. He asked that I remove my post. I advised Troy, that I would gladly sing the praises of Bruis Glassworks just as soon as I had my shipment at my door. About an hour ago, I recieved yet another phone call, Troy again called to give me the UPS tracking number. He advised me that he had driven an hour to get my shipment to UPS, so that it would leave today. I followed up with UPS, and sure enough, my shipment is in transit. I would like to thank Troy for the follow-up. That is all I can ask for as a customer. Honest business practices require communication between the business and the client. Hopefully, Bruis Glassworks, and Troy, will remember that most customers just want to be made aware of the statis of their order. I hope that Bruis Glassworks has a successful future, I am not here to slam anyone, just to inform people so that they can make an educated decision. Hopefully, I will be just as pleased with the shipment as I am with the follow through that Troy has finally provided!

The Cowl Hood we bought had two "big" low spots in it on the driver's side.
Had a hog nose on the front where the cowl was mounted to far front ward. They didn't even put forth the effort of removing it. There is a picture already posted under this topic. I often wondered if this was the Christmas present Troy mentioned He was sending me

Here was Troy's words on this subject in a prior e-mail conversation.
"I could make you a new frontend and hood to match (I'll check this one myself for correctness and it being straight and true)Best Wishes, Troy Bobbit"

The second front end was worst that the first one He sent us. I gave it away!!
The Hood was worst than the first one although it did fit after the adding of 2" with

But it's all my fault b-c we can't be satisfied. All we wanted was what we paid for. I quess reality wise we got did get what we paid for. Junk is only a bill, cheaper!!

I hate it for you guys that have not had such good luck. I would have to advise someone considering Bruis glassworks to be extremely patient, the quality of work has been for us, well worth the wait! Would purchase from Bruis glassworks again if I was not in a hurry. I sure hope Troy recognizes the value of communicating realistic timelines with future customers. I also hope that Bruis' futuer customers realize that life is not always perfect, and sometimes you have to work it a little. Can't please all the people all the time!

I bought a fiberglass front bumper from these jerks way back in june and after two months of them telling me "we'll send it out today, we'll send it out by the end of this week, we sent it out on this day I'll call you back with the tracking number" and any other lie they can think of, after waiting and waiting My dad/mom calls them and blows up on them. So they call me and tell me that "the mold broke so we are going to send you back your money"

well that was around Aug. 1st I was nice and called like every three days waiting for my check and the sec. would say things like I've just been authorized to send it, I'll send it out today, I sent it, whats your address so i can check with some blaa bla bla place, and other stuff like that. After almost a month i call and the Sec. says you have to talk to troy (wich i've never done) heres his Cell good luck getting ahold of him. And that he owes other dissatisfied costumers more money than you.

Shes basically implying to just give it up.

I'm soo PO 200 my not be alot to them but it is to me. Dosent matter how much, its still so fu<king shady.

DONT ORDER FROM THEM THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!

As soon as I can get pics I'll be glad to post them. I am a busy woman, and its not like I have all the time in the world to prove what I think is quality work to you. I dont care, really what you or anybody else thinks- I was impressed with the quality of work I FINALLY recieved from Bruis. Yes, it took FOREVER!!! Yes, there were excuses, lies, fibbs, etc... I spoke with Troy, advised him that his business screams scam artist when customers are told that they will recieve product in a couple of weeks, he has the money, and the customer has to hound him for an answer on why they never got the product when promised! Yes it looks like a scam when he(Troy) will not return phone call after phone call, months and months go by and you still have no answer, and you have no product and you are out thousands of dollars. BUT, I got resolution to my situation. I am finally able to say that I am FINALLY satisfied. Yes buyer beware! Dont be in a hurry if you plan to order from Bruis. I/we (the shop guys) were satisfied. Thats all I need to say! If you Men dont like it well maybe you should have your women get intouch with Troy, and work their magic- that worked for my man! he has his car~ Finally. (Just so ya know, I got involved 2 weeks- he got what he ordered) I was after results- I got them for him  So guys dont be judgin! :D

i bought a front end , door and rear one piece tail section for tube chassis beretta. the parts lloked good, i was close enough i drove down to get it. the hood had to be cut to fit my car the door went on allright the tail piece had to be molded to the car which was understandable but when we got to the front end WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. one side would match up but the other would not, so we would match that side then the other would not. so any one with warpage probs its not worth it to save a few $$$$$$$$$ just may as well buy the hi dolllar stuff and be doine with it

Communication is a big part in a sale, please keep people in the loop,if you can't keep your timelines don't make the sales,Its simple
But its like any thing it takes time to make these type of custom car components.

Oh I am not siding here with no one thats not my intentions here, people just need to read the forum here before the sales not after,Its just part of the deal here, and its free, and it could save you some time and money.

People got the wrong idea or buying stratagies you get what you pay for.
From what I have found, saving money because its cheaper is not a good thing, especially in any thing to do with racing or cars.

I know it sounds incredibly stupid. However this guy will tell you not only what you want hear but make you believe it. I ordered a hood in February and yes I heard all the promises just like everyone else. He finally responded to me because he read my post on Racing Junk. He thought I as wrong to give such negative feed back about Bruis Glass Works. I ordered my hood and paid for it( Shame on me) so I could have the new hood for Pinks All Out in November. He said not a problem. Pinks came and went without my new hood. I finally told him just send me my money back. I laugh because he wanted my address to send the money back. Which he should have had anyway to send my hood. Anyway if anyone reads this and goes elsewhere I have done the world a good thing. Oh and I still haven't seen my money. What comes around goes around. I cannot help to think Troy is in for one big
*******.

Troy is now in the boat business and scaming again. If he still owes you money feel free to call him:
Southern Marine Services
870-312-1734

I wouldn't really care if someone hadn't posted another craigslist warning about him - no one likes a thief.
