Bickel-built racecars are also a force to be reckoned with in Sportsman racing. Both our shop-constructed cars along with cars built by our customers using proprietary JBRC chassis kits and components go-rounds and win races every weekend.
How do we do it? The real secret is hard work, dedicated and healthy measures of experience. Jerry has been building drag race cars for well over 35 years. The combined experience of the workforce exceeds 295 years. Equally important are the JBRC facilities - They’re state of the art. During the summer of 2000 we moved into our new 20,000 square foot facility. this building was designed from the ground up to engineer, fabricate and complete racecars and parts from start to finish.
For example, the fabrication area is temperature controlled and includes the latest state-of-the-art fabricating equipment required to hand-build championship winning race cars, chassis kits and racecar components. During construction of the cars and components, we make use of an assembly-line approach. This process allows our skilled fabricators to perform the same specialized task on every chassis or series of components. This way, you get the finest workmanship simply because each craftsman is an expert in his specific area of the race car.
There’s more too: Racecars need paint. That’s no secrete, but unlike some other shops, we have an in-house, state-of-the-art body shop and paint facility. Included in our body and paint department is a temperature-controlled paint booth that has been designed for the special needs of race car construction. This special booth helps produce dirt-free, baked-on paint finishes. And speaking of these finishes, we use the latest PPG custom and high performance paint and body materials on cars we complete. Two epoxy systems are incorporated, then baked on to produce the most durable, long lasting finish possible.
When it comes to after-sale support or buying components, Jerry Bickel Race Cars Inc. operates a multi-floor Parts Department that is loaded with all of the components listed in our catalog, along with all the components necessary to build a complete racecar chassis. This massive inventory allows us to keep back-orders to a bare minimum and at the same time, allows for same-day shipments on most items. Your order can be tracked from the time of placement right through delivery by way of our computer data processing equipment.
