TRAILER Shopping "101"
1. The experience. Most of you are going to shop one time in your life for a cargo trailer. It can be fun with all the custom options and different ways you can get your trailer. But it can be frustrating. So many dealers are on the internet telling you why the trailer they sell is so much better than the competition. They will tell you how their side door is installed with 16" Side door hinges and a super secure bar lock system with locking hasp mounted with flush mounted hardware. This stuff make us laugh......ALL TRAILERS HAVE THIS FEATURE. It tough to try to sift through all the CRAP and really know what is important to know. The big deal here is that other dealers and factories know that when you have waited a week for your trailer to be built and driven 500 miles to picj it up that the cheep way the trimmed it or sloppy workmanship they use is not going to be enough for you to walk away. We make it our highest priority for the customer to have a great buying and pick up experience. Dont be one of those who gets down here...or up here, ha ha...to find out that trailer you already invested in is not alt all what you thought. WATCH THIER TRAP. READ ON for the important stuff
2. Paint! Look under the trailer. Does it have paint on the frame. Here in s. Georgia we have 17 manufacturers fighting it out to get your business. Most of them put so little paint on the trailer that they dont even go 2 days before beginning to rust. We only sell trailers that have been completely coated in automotive grade SHERWINN WILLIAMS enamel. It costs a lot more. The factory we represent spend about $10,000 per week just on paint and they would love it if we would let them paint them with cheep paint and not put much on. SO LOOK UNDER THE TRAILER. I hate to ruin your day but you will have to drive around a bunch to find one with enough paint on the frame to satisfy your expectation.
3. Frames. I often wish that I could show you the frames that our competition builts. It is amazing that the frame holds together long enough for them to get the wood and aluminum attached. Our frames are heavy duty, we use more steel in our frames than anyone PERIOD. You could drive down the road with our frame completly bare for years and it would hold up. The way our industry builds trailers the typical frame would literally fall apart or fold if it didnt have wood and exterior sheeting holding it toigether.
4 Wood. We use Exterior grade GRADE A-B PTS plywood. That means that as the plywood mill sorts the wood they pick out the A rated boards for us. Then they plugg any small knots or blemishes with compound, then sand the whole board. This is a much more expensive board but is important because you want your trailer to look nice on the inside.
5. AXLES. We used to get the factory to make our axles with the cheeper economy axles that almost all our competition has, and are made overseas.! Make sure that you buy a trailer with either Dexter or AlKO american made axles
