"The Excavator" Nostalgia A/Altered

“The Excavator” is Nostalgia A/ Altered, with an S&W altered/funny car chassis documented by the SFI Foundation, tag number 27/SEMA of 1977. The body of the car is a former Neal Parker car of Hot Rods from Hell.

The Excavator is powered by a 1957 392 c.i. Hemi motor bored to 0.060 which brings it to 404c.i. This motor is loaded with high end components.

This Nostalgia A/ Altered is equipped with a 4 gallon aluminum fuel tank, electric pump with dual filters and pressure regulator. The transmission is a 727 Chrysler with 3800 Stall converter, Strange axles, 4.56:1 gear ratio, short drive shifter with all new universal joints and enclosed guard.

The Excavator comes with two sets of front tires and rims. Moroso Drag Specials on Centerlines setup for Anglia spindles 25x5.50-15, Moroso DS-2 tires on Weld Drag Lites setup for Anglia spindles 25x4.5-15. Both of these sets are balanced. The rear has 15x10 Magnesium American Racing Wheels with M&H 10.5x30-15 tires.

This car has been running in the Amateur Nostalgia Class with consistent runs in the 9.7-9.9 seconds with a speed of 135-137mph. The car runs on 105 Octane and turns 6800rpm on a balanced engine. The Excavator has a mechanical tachometer and no electronics.
