About Me -

Member for: 8 years, 10 months

I’m 51 years old and live on a small farm in north Alabama. Of course I love drag racing and building engines. Back in the day I drag raced a Honda CBX 6 cylinder motorcycle and was fairly successful, but family life changed all that until recently. I hang out with my boys (Don 27 and Cody 20), we spend most of our time together in my 60x40 shop where we keep 2 or 3 projects going all the time. Our priority project at this time is ’67 Camaro drag car which is almost finished. It was supposed to weigh in at 1950 lb. but it looks like it is going to top the scales at 2050 lb. This is the first car we have built from the ground up but I think we did an outstanding job so far. Still got to do some work in the rear of the car where we had to make room for those 33x17 Goodyear’s. The car is a strut, 4-link and utilizes an Alston Eliminator 2 chassis. Second priority project is an ’80 Vette street car that goes 6.30 @ 109 in the 1/8 mile and still has the IRS suspension. We keep it ensured and licensed and drive it about once a month. It’s a handful when on the gas, I guess that is what makes it so much fun! We are also building a resto-mod ’68 Camaro that seems like will never be finished. It has all new body panels, mini-tubbed, billet wheels with 335’s in the rear and 245’s fronts, 6 speed T56, fuel injected, new windows and just about everything else.

I am a software engineer by profession and besides drag racing I like to go an occasional bike rally. I did Sturgis in ’05, ’08 and Daytona in ’06. I’ve been divorced since ’91 and look forward to meeting other racers and exchanging stories.
