About Me -

Member for: 10 years, 2 months, 24 days

Currently a First Sergeant in United States Army stationed at Fort Bliss, Tx with the 1st Armored Division. I have been addicted to drag racing since the age of 8 when I first heard Pro Stock Vega fire up when I went to work with my father who was an auto parts salesman on a Saturday. The Vega belonged to the guy who worked in the machine shop and the noise drew me in. After seeing the car with all the decals, fat rear slicks that looked flat, skinny front tires and the noise, I was hooked. The disease for which there is no cure, drag racing. I grew up around race cars and went to every race I could. I made my first pass down the strip in 1965 Chevy II with a small block, TH350 and 5.13s to the tune of 11.50s at the age of 16. Scared the shit of me, but loved the rush. Continued to run that car and a few others with friends until I joined the Army in 1988. Now, I'm just a spectator in heat, waiting for retirement and the stability to get back in. I've made a couple of passes in my 66 C10 just to see what it would do...high 14.90s at 90 with 3.08s in the rear and TH350. I haven't ran it since putting in the 200R4, 3.73s and POWERTRAX limited slip, so I do expect it to pick up some, we'll see. Don't like beatin on it too much, because it is my daily driver. It is fun to drive though and sounds goooood. I get compliments all the time. I really enjoy driving it.
