In a groundbreaking move for drag racing, the World Drag Racing Alliance (WDRA) and the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) have announced their first-ever collaboration. This new partnership is set to reshape the sportsman racing landscape by uniting two leading sanctioning bodies to enhance the experience for racers and racing venues nationwide.<\/p>\n
The joint effort will see WDRA and IHRA work together to manage sanctioned facilities\u2014overseeing everything from insurance compliance and licensing to organizing dynamic bracket racing programs and events.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a unique opportunity to combine our expertise with IHRA\u2019s resources to benefit our member facilities and provide stability for our bracket racing community,\u201d said WDRA\u2019s Don Scott. \u201cOur focus on member track operations, licensing, and bracket racing perfectly complements IHRA\u2019s new pro racing programs and events. We\u2019re committed to ensuring that IHRA tracks and bracket racers are fully supported because this collaboration is simply good for our sport.\u201d<\/p>\n
IHRA\u2019s Darryl Cuttell echoed the enthusiasm, adding, \u201cBoth groups share a deep commitment to the tracks and racers. By working together, we\u2019re making our sport better. Each organization brings something unique to the table, and this partnership is a clear step forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
Together, WDRA and IHRA now oversee 110 sanctioned facilities and host 15 bracket racing events, laying the groundwork for a more unified and vibrant drag racing community.
