The engineering minds at Roush Yates are masters of engine performance and technology, but they were finding that demand was exceeding supply when sourcing the required number of skilled machinists to make their engines. \u00a0Much as it saw the need for better technology in the first place and thus created it, Roush Yates saw a need for more skilled automotive machinists and decided to create their own, so to speak.<\/p>\n

Thus, the plans for opening the Roush Yates School of Technology. \u201cBridging the skills gap for Engine Technology Education in the US is critical for the future of the racing industry and manufacturing in general,\u201d\u00a0CEO Doug Yates stated.\u00a0 With a successful history of engine building and racing leading to multiple engine builder awards, \u00a0Yates has had a vision of sharing Roush Yates\u2019 experience and knowledge via a structured curriculum taught by experienced industry professionals.<\/p>\n

Roush Yates School of Technology will offer programs in Engine Block and Cylinder Head Machining.\u00a0 The primary objective of the programs is to give students the opportunity to receive hands-on machining experience that will allow them to start as entry-level machinists upon completion of the training.\u00a0 The students will learn the theory and fundamentals of cylinder heads and blocks as they relate to engine performance, and will be given hands-on experience in everything from computer simulations to manual and CNC controlled lathes and machining centers.<\/p>\n

Classes are scheduled to begin in February 2015 and will be held for a period of 36 weeks for each program.\u00a0 Roush Yates School of Technology is a part of a long time vision to continuously improve the skills available to make the best designed, highest quality components required in Roush & Yates Racing Engines as well as other quality focused industry needs.<\/p>\n
