Shocking news came down from Pro Media LLC today<\/strong> — the beloved NMRA Ford Nationals<\/strong> and NMCA Muscle Car Nationals<\/strong> will be no more. The company is ceasing operations on motorsports events starting in 2025. The announcement came days after the NMRA’s World Finals in Bowling Green Kentucky were impacted by Hurricane Helene. This is a huge loss for the drag racing and motorsports community. The NMCA has been around since 1988, and the NMRA since 1999. Losing these institutions is a blow to the grassroots racer everywhere.<\/p>\n

Parent company Pro Media LLC sites lack of return sponsors post-COVID shut down, along with venue losses such as the Auto Club Speedway, and finally, the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene, particularly on the World Finals in Kentucky as driving the undoubtedly difficult decision.<\/p>\n

Pro Media made the following statement:<\/a><\/strong> “ProMedia LLC, home of the NMRA Ford Nationals (since 1999) and NMCA Muscle Car Nationals (since 1988), has made the very difficult decision to cease production of motorsport events beyond 2024. Despite our best efforts, the company could not overcome significant challenges that included losing 4 of our 5 largest pre-Covid revenue-producing events, losing Auto Club Speedway for our NMCA WEST series, declining sponsor and advertising revenues, substantial inflationary price increases and, most recently, the devastating effect Hurricane Helene had on the NMRA World Finals, our company\u2019s largest net profit event.<\/p>\n

ProMedia and our entire team sincerely thank our racers and fans for many years of dedicated support and passion for muscle car performance. We appreciate our sponsors for their long-term friendship and loyalty, most especially our series sponsors, Holley and Red Line Oil. Our track partners are the best in the business and we\u2019re proud to call them our friends. Finally, we have been truly blessed having the most dedicated and talented employees and event staff in the business, made up of true professionals and wonderful people.”<\/p>\n

The company went on to thank sponsors Holley and Red Line Oil for their continued support, and to encourage racers to look at their accomplishment in the series’ with pride. It also offered support for the sanctioning bodies and events that are still operating including the No Prep series, the NHRA, PDRA and others.
