Ford Performance is back and ready to electrify America\u2019s mountain with the brand-new F-150 Lightning SuperTruck. Building on their record-smashing success at the 2023 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with SuperVan 4.2, Ford is taking things to the next level.<\/p>\n

This beast of a truck is a collaboration between Ford Design and STARD Advanced Research and Development, crafted to dominate the extreme conditions of Pikes Peak. Boasting state-of-the-art aerodynamics that generate a whopping 6,000 pounds of downforce at 150 mph, and optimized electric motors for unbeatable performance, this truck is set to impress.<\/p>\n

For the 102nd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the SuperTruck’s powertrain packs a punch with three STARD UHP 6-Phase Motors and Ultra-High Performance Li-Polymer NMC cells, delivering over 1400 horsepower.<\/p>\n

The F-150 Lightning EV demonstrator is decked out with a triple-element front wing, headlight ducts, hood ducts and louvers, front dive-planes, side diffusers, rear diffuser, and a multi-element rear wing for ultimate aerodynamics. Add in carbon ceramic brakes, Pirelli P-Zero tires on magnesium forged wheels, and a fully custom in-board suspension system, and you\u2019ve got one serious contender.<\/p>\n

Behind the wheel of the SuperTruck is none other than Romain Dumas, Pikes Peak veteran and current overall record holder. This marks his ninth appearance and second run with Ford Performance. With Dumas\u2019s skill and experience, this special vehicle is in the best hands.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter last year\u2019s success, I can\u2019t wait to get back in the driver\u2019s seat with this amazing team and push the boundaries of what an electric vehicle can do on this legendary course,\u201d said Dumas. \u201cThe F-150 Lightning SuperTruck has blown me away in testing, and we\u2019re hoping for good weather to achieve something extraordinary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ford\u2019s partnership with STARD continues with the development and construction of the SuperTruck\u2019s powertrain design and controls.<\/p>\n

Since 1916, Ford vehicles have been tackling Pikes Peak, starting with a Model T that made it to the 14,115 ft summit in 28 minutes and 03 seconds. This year, Ford aims to break their own 2023 record set by the SuperVan 4.2, which finished the climb in 8 minutes and 47.682 seconds.<\/p>\n
