World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series veteran Donny Schatz drove to redemption this weekend at The Greatest Show on Dirt<\/em>. While Schatz may have been the bridesmaid to Kyle Larson<\/a> at last weekend\u2019s Knoxville Nationals, the driver of the No. 15 Carquest machine found his way back into victory lane at Saturday night\u2019s Duel in the Dakotas. Starting this race inside the Top 5, the hometown king found his way to the lead by Lap 11 and would keep the rest of the field trailing behind until the halfway point of this race.<\/p>\n

As outside pole sitter Logan Schuchart found his way back to the lead on Lap 15, after which fans were treated to a thrilling show through lap traffic as the No. 15 and the No. 1S dueled for a handful of laps, Schatz officially took command on Lap 22, moments prior to the final caution being called for Marcus Dumesny on Lap 24. Schatz went challenge free to the checkered flag ahead by 2.636-seconds as his Tony Stewart\/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Carquest No. 15 made it two wins in 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis victory is a Huge Relief,\u201d said Schatz. \u201cWe haven\u2019t had the greatest year, but to now have over 300 World of Outlaws victories and to earn my latest victory at my home track feels so good. We are hitting on all cylinders right now with an all-new Ford powerplant under the hood. It is a lot easier for me to drive, and we can do the things that we couldn\u2019t earlier this year so hats off to Ford Performance, and to every single one of our partners for sticking with us. I am excited to see what the rest of the season holds for us now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series will take two days off before returning to North Dakota this Wednesday, August 25 for a makeup date at Grand Forks\u2019 River Cities Speedway. After that, The Greatest Show on Dirt <\/em>will head to Nebraska\u2019s I-80 Speedway on Friday, August 27, and South Dakota\u2019s Black Hills Speedway on Saturday, August 29.
