We wanted to find out a little more about Bryan and his drop-dead gorgeous 1968 Plymouth Barracuda!

RJ: How did you first get into the hobby?
Bryan: My parents used to drop my late brother and me off at Laplace dragway in Laplace, LA, when I was 10 and my brother was 12. We’d spend the day roaming the pits, checking out the cars, etc. That was the start of my interest in muscle cars and drag racing. I’d always liked the Hemi Cudas of Sox & Martin, Steve Bagwell; Eddie Smith’s West Virginia Hemi was always clean as well. Always liked the fastback and found this one via the internet in Ohio. The original plan in 2007, was to turn it into a ‘69 model and run it in stock eliminator with a 340 small block. My Dad fell sick and passed away in 2009. The stocker plan never went any further and I hardly used the car for the next few years.

In 2015, I contacted Ken Pierce of Karsunlimited, inc.,in Hattiesburg, Ms and shared my thoughts and numerous notes and parts lists with him. He and his crew took about a year and a half on the car, and it turned out exactly the way I wanted.

RJ: Tell us about the Barracuda!
Bryan: I like my Barracuda and am planning some engine upgrades;( new, forged pistons, rods, cylinder head work, and either a Lenco or clutchflite.) I haven’t taken it to the track yet, but it spins the tires in almost every gear, so it’s a matter of getting it to hook, which is nothing a set of slicks wouldn’t cure. The first cruise night I took the car to, it won “the people’s choice award,” and it usually garners a fair amount of attention at various shows and gatherings.

Specs:
1968 Plymouth Barracuda fastback – Mist Green Metallic
Engine:
2008 Mopar Gen 3 6.1 Hemi, Stock bottom end ,Milodon pan & pickup
Comp cams hydraulic roller cam and lifters, beehive springs .547”; 550”lift int./exh.
