After announcing in March that the company would merge with Empower, a “publicly-traded special purpose acquisition company” to become a publicly listed company, the aftermarket behemoth has pushed forward into the import and electric world, acquiring AEM Performance Electronics.

AEM is known for the development and supply of electronic control and monitoring systems and recently entered into the EV market with the launch of an electronic control system that supports the conversion of vehicles originally equipped with internal combustion engines to electric power. Holley acquired AEM for $52 million and expects AEM to contribute 2021 sales of $26 million, according to the company.

Currently, Holley also owns Holley, Holley EFI, APR, DiabloSport, Edge and Superchips, MSD and ACCEL, Flowmaster and Hooker, Simpson and Stilo, Earl’s Performance Plumbing, GearFX Driveline, HANS Hilborn Fuel Injection, Nitrous Oxide Systems, Racepak , STS Turbo, and Tremec covering everything from tuning to ignition to carburetion and safety.

While not exclusive to domestic brands, the Holley portfolio is definitely a favorite of the American OEM, race and performance set — carbureted or not. Now, Holley can bring it’s muscle to the import, sport compact and electric conversion market, making its brands a one-stop shop for auto enthusiasts of all stripes.

“The acquisition of AEM is strategic and accretive and we’re excited to welcome even more aficionados of import and other sport compact cars into our growing community of gearheads. We’re also very excited about the work AEM is doing to bring cost-effective and easy-to-use electronic control systems to enthusiasts that are passionate about EV Conversions,” said Tom Tomlinson, president and CEO of Holley. “The AEM brand is iconic in its space and represents a great addition to our already large family of legendary brands that resonate deeply with our customers.”

Holley acquires AEM Performance Products, signaling a foray into the world of import, sport compact and EVs.

{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3470
8388,8387,8389,15
post-78883","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-acquisition","tag-aem-performance-products","tag-evs","tag-holley
["GET
