Some familiar names in the short course world have partnered to release a new series. Lee Perfect and\u00a0 Dave Cole of Hammerking Productions have partnered to announce the launch of the Great American Short Course (GAS), powered by OPTIMA Batteries. The Great American Shortcourse Series will befour planned races this year with two events this spring and two in the fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe learned from King of the Hammers that it\u2019s better to have your fans be able to actively participate at the events than just sit there watching, and we aim to provide that opportunity here,\u201d said Cole of Hammerking Productions, which oversees the King of the Hammers event and ULTRA4 Series.<\/p>\n

The Great American Short Course acts as a beacon of hope for race teams that were left with nowhere to race on the west coast after The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series shut down its operations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an incredible opportunity,\u201d said Lee Perfect. \u201cWe plan to take a fresh look at short course racing in the West and learn from each other to build something sustainable, safe, and fun for everyone from the grassroots racers to the pros.\u201d<\/p>\n
