Former NASCAR champ Logano enters the DIRTcar Nationals and plans to enter the Bristol Bash with UMP Mod.<\/h2>\n

The best way for former NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano to gain valuable dirt track experience in preparation for the March 28th Cup Series event at Bristol Motor Speedway<\/a> is to start slinging some mud.<\/p>\n

So he called on a fellow employee at Team Penske, and a good racer in his own right, Ryan Flores.<\/p>\n

Flores, who built a DIRTcar UMP Modified during the off-season, had plans to race it himself. However, when Logano heard that Flores and another employee, Team Penske no. 22 car chief Jerry Kelley, had this project in the works, he saw a golden opportunity to gain that valuable dirt experience.<\/p>\n

Class will be in session starting Friday, February 5th at Volusia Speedway Park for the Middletown, CT native. Logano is entered for events on both Friday and Saturday night during the 50th running of the DIRTcar Nationals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoey\u2019s a pretty hard worker,\u201d Flores said. \u201cWhat he does for a living is drive race cars. Now that there\u2019s a dirt race, he wants to be well prepared for it. That\u2019s the ultimate goal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Logano is joining a pretty large list of NASCAR-connected racers who will be entered in these events at the DIRTcar Nationals. The likes of Kenny Wallace, David Stremme, Kenny Schrader, Justin Allgaier, Justin Haley and three-time NASCAR Truck Series champion Matt Crafton, will all be entered into the action.<\/p>\n

After these two races are complete, plans have the Logano \/ Flores pairing entering the Bristol Bash together at the Bristol Motor Speedway this coming April 8-10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
