NASCAR spoke of increasing its range of inclusive activities over the past season, one in which former Richard Petty Racing driver Darrell \u201cBubba\u201d Wallace led the Black Lives Matter cause as the sole Black driver in the sanctioning body\u2019s premier Cup Series.<\/p>\n

Later in 2020, the great Michael Jordan joined the roster of NASCAR team co-owners, becoming part of 23XI Racing together with current superstar Denny Hamlin. They hired Bubba Wallace to be their driver on the No. 23 Toyota-powered team in 2021.<\/p>\n

Now another world-recognized entertainer has joined the Cup series, taking co-ownership duties of new NASCAR Cup Series entrant Trackhouse Racing together with team founder Justin Marks. Pitbull, the Grammy award-winning global superstar claims he\u2019s ready to amplify the sport\u2019s influence around the world with his truly global appeal.<\/p>\n

Trackhouse Racing intends to make its debut with the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro, with Monterrey, Mexico-born racer Daniel Suarez at the controls. The team has a technical and operations alliance with Richard Childress Racing.<\/p>\n

Pitbull, born Armando Christian Perez noted, \u201cI\u2019ve been a fan of the NASCAR story since the movie \u2018Days of Thunder\u2019. As soon as I met Justin [Marks], [team president] Ty Norris and Daniel, we were on the same page. They welcomed me aboard, and now we\u2019re going to show the world NASCAR is not only a sport, it\u2019s a culture. This is an amazing way to celebrate my 40th birthday, so Get Ready! Dale! (Dah-lay).\u201d<\/p>\n

This is more than a name brand for Trackhouse Racing, as Pitbull proposes to serve as a brand and philanthropy ambassador. Together, he and Marks intend to foster the launch of a racing-themed STEM curriculum within the SLAM! (Sports Leadership Arts and Management) inner-city charter schools, schools that Pitbull helped establish seven years ago. The entertainer is a proponent of free education, environmental causes and technical innovation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom Day One of creating Trackhouse Racing, I wanted our team to be a platform for purpose, to transcend the sport and positively impact all races on and off the track,\u201d Marks noted. \u201cI am proud that, in just a few months, we are here announcing a partnership with one of the most influential and recognized arts in the world.<\/p>\n

Through NASCAR and our partnership with Pitbull, we are going to have the attention of a global demographic that is ready to be inspired into action for themselves, their families and the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
