Despite it being an off weekend for one half of the World of Outlaws world, several drivers took this opportunity to continue making a name for themselves in the dirt throughout the country. Beginning with a thrilling Tuesday trip for the DIRTcar Late Models, where defending World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series champion and current points leader Brandon Sheppard earned his 26th<\/sup> feature race victory and banked a $15,000 payday after \u201cThe Rocket Shepp\u201d took the lead from DIRTcar Late Model regular Shannon Babb after the first caution in the 50-Lap race and never looked back for the \u201cOne for the Road\u201d race win.<\/p>\n

Much like Sheppard, another newly famed name in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series also added another lofty payday to his resume on Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway. For the 14th<\/sup> time this season, former NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson raced his way to a Sprint Car victory after dominating all 40 laps of the Dirt Classic 7, aboard the Paul Silva-owned\/Finley Farms\/Durst\/Lucas Oil\/Tarlton and Sons\/No. 57 sprint car. Before earning this impressive $20,000 win, one of the current most winning World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series drivers also raced to victories on Wednesday at Lincoln Speedway and Thursday at BAPS Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have definitely had a lot of momentum and confidence, which is important no matter what you do,\u201d said Larson. \u201cWhenever you can string lots of good runs like myself and my teams have been able to do lately it makes is easier to carry on and earn more wins. I look forward to earning more as the season goes on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thanks to Larson\u2019s taking a break from his World of Outlaws driving duties, another driver who has had a hunger for a win in the NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for the past two months finally found his way to race his way to victory lane for the first time since claiming the trophy at the Terre Haute Action Track in mid-July.<\/p>\n

When the opportunity to visit Victory Lane for the second year in a row at Devil\u2019s Bowl \u2013 the birthplace of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series \u2013 presented itself to Shark Racing\u2019s Logan Schuchart made the most of it.<\/p>\n

Starting Saturday night\u2019s 30 Lap Texas Outlaw Nationals, at Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway, in fifth place Schuchart made the most of his starting position to maneuver past the likes of Jason Sides, Jacob Allen, Sheldon Haudenschild and David Gravel to go from fifth to the lead by the halfway point of this race. From there this racing Shark held off challenges from pole sitter David Gravel, who attempted to run down Schuchart in the closing laps of this race and was even able to keep the 1S within reach with three laps to go. Despite trying to use a final caution flag to reclaim his earlier lead, Gravel allowed Schuchart to restart in clear and cruise to the win.<\/p>\n

While Gravel was bummed for he and his team, Schuchart said that this win was a huge weight off.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have had a lot of seconds and thirds in the last two months and while these are great finishes, this is not what we are looking for,\u201d said Schuchart. \u201cThis is why I am so happy and relieved to see these guys pay off and get this thing back in victory lane where it belongs.\u201d<\/p>\n
