The official word is out — no Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in 2020.\u00a0 \u00a0Or at least no in-person event will be held in Indianapolis, IN, the traditional home of the race and performance gathering. Speculation on whether the show would indeed go ahead has been rampant since SEMA, PRI’s parent, cancelled the Las Vegas-based SEMA show for 2020<\/a>, replacing it with SEMA 360, a virtual marketplace opportunity<\/a>.<\/p>\n Which is to say while the cancellation is not a surprise, it is still a disappointment for many in the race and performance enthusiast industry.<\/p>\n PRI has been actively working with the Visit Indy Team, the Indianapolis Trade Show commission and other state officials to guarantee health and safety during the show, but eventually it was decided that the uncertainty and concerns around COVID-19 and large gatherings would make proceeding with the event too difficult.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with great disappointment that we announce that the 2020 PRI Trade Show will not take place,\u201d said PRI President Dr. Jamie Meyer. \u201cOur goal is to always do what is best for the motorsports industry, and PRI will continue to lead with business solutions for an ever-changing future.”<\/p>\n The organization remains committed to supporting motorsports parts manufacturers, resellers, racetracks, race teams, sanctioning bodies, media, and racers themselves, through legislative advocacy, training, and more.<\/p>\n PRI will be offering full refunds for exhibitors and will continue to update exhibitors and attendees with what will happen next, which, presumably will be some sort of virtual opportunity for the industry.<\/p>\n
