There are no real tricks to it, but I certainly field a lot (and I mean a lot!) of questions on how I did things, especially detail items within the engine compartment.&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;Before getting into the nuts and bolts of the equation, let\u2019s just rewind for a second: Decades upon decades ago when I first started building cars from the ground-up I thought the best way to detail an engine compartment was to rattle can it black and chrome plate a bunch of pieces. Then I\u2019d wrap all of the wiring with that split loom plastic wrap stuff and call it \u201cdetailed and done\u201d. Since then, let\u2019s just say my tastes (along with the respective processes I use) have evolved a wee bit. In the following slide show(s), I\u2019ll show you how I detail my street strip builds today (and feel free to copy some or all of the ideas).&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;One of my personal guiding principles is to keep the car simple.
