After a fireworks type of win on fourth of July, the driver known as the Rocket was back at it this weekend at Plymouth Dirt Track. The newest Dairyland Dominator extended his record at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds to three-for-three, winning in each of his appearances in 2018, 2019 and 2020 after the Brandon Sheppard would control the last 39 laps of Saturday night\u2019s 50 lap feature to become \u00a0the winningest World of Outlaws driver in the state of Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

Sheppard\u2019s conquest for the record books began with his 35th career Fast Time Award at 14.412 seconds, which marked his second-straight year as the fastest qualifier at Plymouth. Following the start of his domination, the Rocket Shepp continued his onslaught with a dominant heat race win aboard his Valvoline sponsored No. 1. Despite this Sheppard pulled a fourth place starting position for Saturday\u2019s 50 Lap feature. Lining up on the outside of row two, Sheppard quickly marched forward and slid into the second spot on the opening circuit.<\/p>\n

As he continued to march forward, Sheppard held off a series of challenges that helped him move forward. From there, it was practically smooth sailing over the remaining 39 laps. Although he would have to contend with lap traffic throughout the 50-lap feature, The Rocket Shepp fought the challenges of working around back markers on the tight Wisconsin oval to take home the $50,000 win.<\/p>\n

\u201cMyself and this Rocket Racing team love coming here,\u201d said Sheppard. \u201cI have got a little theory, wherever corn grows good, we are going to have a good race. \u201cThis trip north to Wisconsin and then our Western swing, that is my favorite part of the whole year. We usually get around these tracks great and this team is not scared to work with what we have to make each of these races good ones for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series will take two nights off before resuming the Northern Swing on Tuesday night with an appearance at Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin for a $10,000 win.
