Great news for bow-tie fans, Chevrolet Performance have announced the all-new LS427\/570 crate engine \u2014 an enhanced version of the production-based LS7 7.0L engine that is configured for more horsepower, more torque, and due to a simpler wet-sump oiling system, much easier to install.<\/p>\n
The new LS427\/570 gets draws more power from an all-new, high-lift camshaft designed specifically for this engine and is able to produce a GM-estimated 570 horsepower and 540 lb-ft of torque \u2014 increases of 65 horsepower and 70 lb-ft over the regular-production engine \u2014 while the new wet-sump oiling system is designed to eliminate the need for the installer to incorporate a separate oil tank, oil lines, and other ancillary components.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe all-new LS427\/570 builds on the legendary, racing-bred performance of the LS7 to create the most powerful naturally-aspirated LS crate engine in our portfolio,\u201d said Jessica Earl, GM specialist marketing group manager.<\/p>\n
Compared to the production LS7 crate engine assembly, the LS427\/570 features an F-body aluminium oil pan and a specific wet-sump oil pump.<\/p>\n
