Ever since Dodge announced that the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat would produce 707 horsepower, non-Mopar enthusiasts have been downplaying the number, focusing on how it’s still a big, heavy car that handles like a boat.<\/p>\n

Well, the Hellcat has come back with some more numbers for the non-believers, and this time it’s in the form of an NHRA certified quarter-mile ET of 11.2 seconds at 125 mph with stock Pirelli P275\/40ZR20 P Zero tires. And just for fun, they slapped on street legal drag radials and achieved an ET of 10.8 seconds at 126 mph.<\/p>\n

Dodge wasn’t joking around when they said they had built the “fastest muscle car ever.” The Shelby GT500 runs an 11.6 second quarter mile, the Camaro ZL1 a 12.1 and the SRT Viper does it in 11.7 seconds.<\/p>\n

Now the only number that’s missing from the picture is the retail price. Will the SRT Hellcat be the most powerful, fastest and most affordable muscle car? We’ll have to wait and see.<\/p>\n
