The first new recall is on select 2019 Ford F-Series Super Duty vehicles. Select 2020 Ford Explorer vehicles are the subject of the second new recall. A passenger-side axle shaft manufactured with steel that doesn\u2019t meet Ford\u2019s specifications may have been installed on vehicles equipped with electronically locking rear-axle assemblies. Axles manufactured with materials that don\u2019t meet specifications may fracture, resulting in loss of motive power while in two-wheel-drive and an inability to hold the park function. If the parking brake isn\u2019t engaged, this could result in the truck rolling by itself. A wiring harness in the engine compartment is not properly secured in affected vehicles, allowing the wire to become damaged by contact with the air conditioning compressor pulley. Damage to the pulley can also result from this contact. Contact with the pulley over time may rub through the insulation of the harness and cause a short circuit. The amendment also extends the built date range of other vehicles affected by this recall.
