Ford Motor Company issued two safety recalls in North America while also amending safety compliance recall 19C07. The first new recall is on select 2019 Ford F-Series Super Duty vehicles. Select 2020 Ford Explorer vehicles are the subject of the second new recall. Safety compliance recall 19C07 affects select 2020 Ford Escape vehicles.<\/p>\n

2020 F-Series Super Duty Recall<\/strong><\/p>\n

Affected vehicles were built at the Kentucky Truck Plant and the Ohio Assembly Plant between May 21, and July 26, 2019. A passenger-side axle shaft manufactured with steel that doesn\u2019t meet Ford\u2019s specifications may have been installed on vehicles equipped with electronically locking rear-axle assemblies. Axles manufactured with materials that don\u2019t meet specifications may fracture, resulting in loss of motive power while in two-wheel-drive and an inability to hold the park function. If the parking brake isn\u2019t engaged, this could result in the truck rolling by itself. This is Ford Recall 19S31.<\/p>\n

2020 Explorer Recall<\/strong><\/p>\n

Affected vehicles were built at the Chicago Assembly Plant between May 28, and July 18, 2019 and equipped with 2.3-liter and 3.3-liter gasoline engines. A wiring harness in the engine compartment is not properly secured in affected vehicles, allowing the wire to become damaged by contact with the air conditioning compressor pulley. Damage to the pulley can also result from this contact. Contact with the pulley over time may rub through the insulation of the harness and cause a short circuit. Most affected vehicles are still in dealer stock and will be repaired prior to delivery. 19S32 is this recall\u2019s reference number.<\/p>\n

Safety Compliance Recall 19C07 Amended to Include 2020 Ford Escape<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ford announced late last month an amendment to safety compliance recall 19C07 to include select 2020 Ford Escape vehicles that were built at the Louisville Assembly Plant between April 3, and Sept 21, 2019. The amendment also extends the built date range of other vehicles affected by this recall. Approximately 9,350 Ford Escape vehicles are affected by this recall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
