Once again, Dodge has designated the team of Don Schumacher Racing\u2019s Matt Hagan as the guinea pig for its latest Funny Car body graphics, debuting this weekend during the 40th annual Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil, first leg of NHRA\u2019s difficult Western Swing.<\/p>\n
The new 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody package is being unveiled the day before activities get underway at Bandimere Speedway, located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, just west of Denver, Colorado.<\/p>\n
The track, at nearly 5,900 feet above sea level, creates huge challenges for NHRA\u2019s Funny Car and Top Fuel crew chiefs to harness their 11,000-horsepower engines so that drivers can maneuver through the 1,000-foot dragstrip in optimal time.<\/p>\n
The production Widebody Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat body has new, wider and integrated fender flares, adding 3.5 inches of body width to the street car, which creates an ever more aggressive and planted stance to the successful machine. Hagan\u2019s car will carry the production car\u2019s \u201cflare\u201d graphics for the balance of the 2019 NHRA racing season.<\/p>\n
Dodge initially announced the Widebody Package in June of this year and dealers will be able to order the package in the fall, with deliveries intended nearly 2020. The new Funny Car graphics on Hagan\u2019s DSR machine commemorate recent expansion of high-performance Dodge Charger production vehicle models for 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year I had the honor of debuting the Mopar Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car body at Denver, and it\u2019s cool to be able to follow that up this year by revealing new Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody graphics,\u201d Hagan said. \u201cThe graphics really mimic the flared appearance of the Charger Widebody, and I think fans are going to dig the look,\u201d said the two-time champion, who has raced a Dodge his entire, 10-year career.<\/p>\n
The Widebody Package is standard on the Charger SRT Hellcat street car and is also available on the Dodge Charger Scat Pack. The production version of the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody, powered by the 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine boasts a best-in-class 707 horsepower and 650 ft-lbs of torque; the machine delivers a top speed of 196 mph, maintaining its reign as the most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
