While drivers in the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series may have lost out on the First in Flight 100 race weekend<\/a> due to more dangerous spring storms in the race area, competitors in the sister series \u2013 the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series \u2013 were in full action this weekend at one of the top dirt track series in the United States.<\/p>\n

After completing the Eldora Speedway\u2019s Let\u2019s Race Two event<\/a> sweep in 2018, Donny Schatz was back at it this weekend at the track owned by his team owner, three time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart. Kicking off Friday night\u2019s 30-Lap feature event on the pole, Schatz was back on top on Friday night after launching to a dominating lead with No. 2 of Carson Macedo trailing close behind.<\/p>\n

Although the Sprint Car rookie charged on the outside like a starving predator in pursuit of innocent prey, Schatz continued to keep up his powerful momentum and even overcame Macedo\u2019s attempt to steal the lead in the final laps of this race to win yet another race at a track where he has won more than 10 times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so thrilled to once again win at this track, but you can\u2019t gauge anything off of one race,\u201d said Schatz. \u201cEverything from here is gravy and despite several changes in our team this year, I am just happy that I am racing the way I want and with the people I want, and that we are continuing to have a great time doing it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the #LetsRaceTwo<\/a> race weekend at Eldora Speedway was scheduled for both Friday and Saturday night, Mother Nature proved that no one can outlast her wrath when heavy persistent rain continued to fall on night two, postponing this finale race until Wednesday, July 17.<\/p>\n

Thanks to this delay as well as Friday\u2019s night\u2019s win, Schatz now leads the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series points battle as The Greatest Show on Dirt heads to the Gettysburg Clash, presented by Drydene, at Lincoln Speedway on Wednesday, May 15.<\/p>\n
