Young sprint car and former Behind The Wheel<\/a> featured driver McKenna Haase recently received some big news about the next step in her career. After winning two sprint car features at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway last season, as well as becoming the only female driver to win a race in the history of this half-mile dirt oval, Haase will finally have an opportunity to step up to the big leagues at this week\u2019s 33rd annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.<\/p>\n

Thanks to a recent offer from Keith Kunz and Curb-Agajanian Motorsports, the newest rising sprint car star will pilot the 71X Bullet-Toyota for the same team who picked up last year\u2019s victory with Christopher Bell. The young driver, who calls both NASCAR and dirt racing star Kyle Larson \u2018an inspiration,\u2019 contacted her mentor in July asking for his help in helping her move up the dirt racing ladder.<\/p>\n

\u201cI called Kyle in July because I want to get into the midget scene and I didn\u2019t feel like I had my foot in the door the way that I wanted on the sprint car side of things,\u201d said Haase. \u201cAfter this, Kyle did the most awesome thing by contacting Keith and putting in a good word. Before I knew it, I was meeting him at PRI and was eventually given this opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are really excited to have McKenna on board with us for this event and we are hopeful that we can build a program with us even further in the future, and look forward to seeing what she can do for our entire team this week in Tulsa,\u201d said Kunz.<\/p>\n
