Over 500 exhibitors from as far away as Australia were at SEMA 2018 displaying new performance-racing products. Of these, ProCharger came away with the Best New Performance-Racing Product of 2018 with their ProCharger CrankDrive\u2122Supercharger Gear Drive. Both runner-up positions went to QA1 for their MOD Series Shock and Carbon Fiber Sway Bar. RacingJunk also picked three new racing products for honorable mention.<\/p>\n

The ProCharger CrankDrive Supercharger Gear Drive Wins Best New Performance-Racing Product<\/strong><\/p>\n

ProCharger came to the 2018 SEMA Show with their CrankDrive Supercharger Gear Drive unit and left with the Best New Performance-Racing Product of 2018 for it. This unit is designed for most drag racing applications with engines making up to 3,000 horsepower. The design allows for the attachment of various accessories and easy gear ratio changes between passes. The CrankDrive gear drive is compatible with F-1-F-3X racing superchargers.<\/p>\n

SEMA Awards QA1 Both Performance-Racing Best Product Runner-Up Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n

QA1 won both Best Product Runner-Up awards this year. The first award was given for their MOD\u2122 Series Shocks<\/a>. These are the first shocks on the market that can be revalved while on the car, turning a job that normally takes up to an hour into one that can be done in minutes. Their double adjustable design allows for precise control of the low-speed bleed, which gives control over rebound and compression independently.<\/p>\n

QA1\u2019s second Runner-Up was awarded for their new Carbon Fiber Sway Bar Kit<\/a>. QA1 winds these carbon fiber sway bars at their Minnesota factory using 3M\u2122 Matrix Resin. Carbon fiber makes them both stronger than steel or aluminum and up to seven pounds lighter than traditional bars. The patented construction method gives the bar the strength of a 1 3\/8 inch chromoly bar at half the weight. QA1 has also created a unique end link style for these bars that gives more wheel and tire clearance than traditional links.<\/p>\n

COMP Cams Hustler Lifters for GM 603 & 504 Engines<\/strong><\/p>\n

The COMP Cams<\/a>\u00ae Hustler\u2122 Lifters for GM 603 & 604 Crate Engines look like stock lifters. However, they\u2019re built with a reduced travel internal piston, giving them superior stiffness, and thus more lift than stock lifters. Responsiveness is also increased thanks to the shorter travel. Hustler lifters fit 1987-1998 GM small block engines and are legal for race applications requiring sealed blocks.<\/p>\n

DSS Racing Pistons Earns First \u201cHonorable Mention\u201d Nod from RacingJunk<\/strong><\/p>\n

These included their Chevrolet LS and Mopar Hemi FX Series pistons, made from aircraft-spec 2618 alloy with their patented X-Groove Skirt design that is said to deliver improved cylinder and ring life. They also introduced a complete line of high quality rings to go with these pistons, including their XP-series for applications with extreme power adder (boost, nitrous, etc.) usage.<\/p>\n

Brisk Racing\u2019s Silver Racing RRO8S Spark Plug Earns Our Second \u201cHonorable Mention\u201d Award<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Silver Racing RR08S Spark Plug<\/a> from Brisk Racing, although having been designed specifically for race applications making high boost and\/or compression, can also be used in the hot rods we drive every day. These plugs have a 1.5 mm center conductor made of silver. Brisk Racing says they \u201chave a better ignitability than conventional performance spark plugs, and offer better performance and reliability in high boost, nitrous or high compression applications. Silver is an element with the most free electrons, and is the best electrical and thermal (heat) conductor of all metals!\u201d The Silver Racing RR08S is available for most popular V6 and V8 engines from Ford, Chevy and Mopar.<\/p>\n
