NASCAR\u2019s Camping World Truck and Monster Energy Cup series rolled through Talladega<\/a> this weekend, and both races saw surprise winners. Saturday\u2019s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series FR8Auctions 250 was an exciting race won by the semi-retired Timothy Peters. Although Sunday\u2019s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 1000Bulbs.com 500 was dominated by SHR and won by Aric Almirola, there was an exciting race behind this four-car lead \u201cpack.\u201d<\/p>\n

Part-Timer Peters Wins Exciting Truck Race<\/strong><\/p>\n

The only real excitement during the first two stages of Saturday\u2019s NCWTS FR8Auctions250 was Johnny Sauter, Stewart Friesen and Justin Haley running through the field from the back of the pack to the front in the first 15 laps of the 94 lap race. Grant Enfinger<\/a> won the first stage in his number 98 and Todd Gilliland<\/a> took his Kyle Busch Racing<\/a> number 4 to the second stage win. Things got interesting during the second stage.<\/p>\n

Lap 50 saw The Big One and a red flag period that lasted almost 12 minutes. Lap 89 saw Enfinger solo spin out of the lead with no caution. Shortly after the semi-retired Timothy Peters took his GMS Racing number 25 to the lead, the caution came out on the white flag lap, giving Peters the win. The Thorsport Racing<\/a> Number 13 Myatt Snider<\/a> came in second and David Gilliland<\/a>‘s KBR number 51 took third.<\/p>\n

Almirola Paves Way to Next Round in SHR-Dominated Race<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega was pretty boring for most of the race. Kurt Busch<\/a> won the first stage and Kevin Harvick<\/a> won the second. There were times when Stewart-Haas Racing<\/a> in particular and Ford in general (Penske was there as well at times) held a 14 second lead over the second pack.<\/p>\n

\"SHR<\/p>\n

Things started to warm up a bit during the second stage, but the status quo did not change much. There was three- and four-wide racing in the pack, but this only guaranteed that the race would be decided between four Ford (three of them SHR) drivers. Kurt Busch ran out of gas on the last lap, giving the surprise win to the number 10 team of Aric Almirola<\/a>. Second place went to teammate Clint Bowyer<\/a> in the 14, while Ford teammate Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.<\/a> took his Team Penske Racing<\/a> number 17 to third.<\/p>\n
