September\u2019s Driven2SaveLives \u201cBC39\u201d national midget race, set for September 5-6, is on its way to becoming the highest entry event in USAC history. The race, taking place on The Dirt Track inside Indianapolis Motor Speedway\u2019s third turn, currently has 90 entries for the first night race held at IMS.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the rate teams and drivers are showing their profound interest in this race, the event could become the largest car count for a USC P1 Insurance National Midget race since the final event held at Ascot Park in 1990. At that \u201cTurkey Night Midget Grand Prix,\u201d a total of 109 drivers who competed for the last time at the venerated dirt oval near Los Angeles.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

USAC will permit added entries until noon EDT on Wednesday, August 29. At that time, entries will be cut off for the race. The event comprises Wednesday night\u2019s to laps, 12 heat races and a unique pursuit race on the quarter-mile dirt oval. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On Thursday, September 6, USAC has scheduled hot laps, qualifying races and the last chance races, which feed into the 39-lap A-Main and for which the winner will be awarded $15,000, the most prize money allotted to any midget race held in the USA. The two-day event carries a purse and incentives totally over $70,000, making it a very rich payday.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For the next eight days, drivers and teams can enter the event here<\/a>. Pit passes will continue to be sold through raceday right over here<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Racing stars who have entered this race include a definitive who\u2019s who of USAC Midget racing. NASCAR stars Kyle Larson, Chase Briscoe, Tracy Hines, Jerry Coons Jr, J.J. Yeley (also an Indy 500 veteran), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Christopher Bell will take part. USAC standouts include Chris Windom, Logan Seavey, Brady Bacon, Tanner Thorson and Spencer Bayston. Nine-time Indianapolis 500 starter Sarah Fisher is fielding a car for Dave Darland, who holds the victory record in USAC\u2019s AMSOIL National Sprint series.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
