World of Outlaws Craftsman\u00ae<\/sup> Late Model Series driver Chris Madden earned back to back wins last weekend following the 4th annual Billy Clanton Classic at Senoia Raceway.<\/p>\n

After his $10,000 win at Smoky Mountain Speedway, the Gray Court, SC driver dominated the race that honors Georgia Automobile Racing Hall of Fame Association inductee Billy Clanton, who won an estimated 200 dirt races from 1966 until the 1990\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Madden and his No. 44 Barry Wright Race Cars House Car team began the weekend with one of the fastest qualifying times as well as a win in the second heat race. After, Madden drew the pole position and used it to dominate all 50 laps of Saturday night\u2019s feature race on the 3\/8-mile clay bullring.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a great race car,\u201d said Madden. \u201cI want to thank all of the guys on my team as well as all of my sponsors who support me. I also want to thank Barry Wright, who was working on the car all night and all morning. You will not find many people like him, who put in the effort to make this thing go so fast. I also want to thank Shane Clanton for this event. This is definitely an awesome race to come and win.”<\/p>\n

Despite leading every lap of this race, Madden would have to hold off charges from Mike Marlar, Brandon Overton and even Billy Clanton\u2019s dirt racing son \u2013 Shane Clanton. The second night\u2019s feature winner at last weekend\u2019s Tennessee Tipoff also made a run for the win from a 17th<\/sup> place starting position. Although he eventually took second place from Marlar, with five laps to go, he was unable to catch the driver who also challenged him in Tennessee.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told everyone how racy this place was, and I guess I should have known this so I would have qualified better,\u201d said McDowell. \u201cHats off to all the guys who get the track ready. It was a lot of fun; I just wish we had some more laps, so we could have caught Madden.\u201d<\/p>\n
